[1128-20080228] Tap @ Grand Place (Brussels, B). Aroma of sugared caramel toffee sweets, sweaty grainy toast and mildly smoky yeast. Hazy, brown red body with a quick creamy white head. Sweet grainy caramelized alcohol and toasted bread flavour. Medium body is a little thin. Interesting sweetness.

On tap, at brewpub. Pours a clear light amber body with a small thinnish beige head. Smells rather thin with some light amber malts, light yeastiness and a touch of hops. The flavor is thin malt and very light floral hops. Fairly short finish. Thin and fizzy mouthfeel. Rather forgettable, and expensive (3.90) for what you get. Could have had an Orval for this! Didn’t bother to try any others.

Fra fat på brewpuben med utsikt til Grande Place 5 Mai 11. Gyldenbrun. Lavt skum. Antydning til frukt i aromaen. Smaken er malt & litt frukt. Rimelig kjedelig.

On tap at the brewpub. It poured a dark amber liquid with a pale beige head. Mild smell with a wiff of caramel malt. Also the taste was mild with some caramel malts and yeast. A fairly dull beer that doesn’t stand out.

Pours pale amber with a small, creamy, white head. Mild aroma of caramel. Some off-notes of metal, light citric. Medium carbonation, somewhat thin. Fresh caramel flavour, yet quite weak. Light metal again. Not fantastic but better than the blonde.

Draught at the pub. Delicately served from tray that had four samples of their beers, each 120ml. Clear amber body. On big patch in the middle of a bright surface. Nice lacework. Smell of wheat, somewhat tart. Caramel malts in flavour with a slight metallic impression. Bittering malts to a short-lived ending. More like a dark lager, very ordinary (Brussel, 07.05.2011).

Sehr mild, fast wässrig, unterbrochen von einer dunkel angehauchten Herbe, welche eher lustlos erscheint und zum Ende in Windeseile abnimmt. Kein Aufbäumen, einfach nur minimalste Malzigkeit. Naja! 8/6/7/6//6

Bottle@Brewpub. Amber colour, white head, good lace. Dirt and malts in the aroma. Light malty, hint of toffee, bitter, hoppy. Light and easy going.

Draught at bar. Sweet toffee malt on the nose, mild fruitiness. Pale amber body, dense white head and lace. Creamy texture, moderately rich body, slightly soapy. Nice toffee malt body, dark berry fruit characters. Drying finish, quite nice.

On tap @ La Grande Place, Brussel. Weak aroma, some spice, herbal tones there. Clear, amber coloured beer with an off-white lace. The taste is a bit sweet, bit malty, spicy. Carbonation there. Bit thin body. Uninteresting.
