4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml shared with sideshowe and kubrick215. Thanks a lot to my wife Michelle for surprising me with this on Xmas morning!
Pours a deep, dark blood red color with a two finger dark purplish-pink head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Musty, funky aroma that’s bursting forward with sweet berries and barnyard funk. Slightly lactic with lots of earthy oak and a strong horse blanket character. Although there is a lot of earthy funk, the nose is still dominated by a very strong cherry/dark fruit character. It’s really surprising how fruit forward this beer is. Smells great!
Medium bodied but filler than expected with a perfect balance of lactic funk, acetic acid and sweet fruit. Surprisingly smooth and easy to put down considering how tart and funky it is. Not harsh, overly acidic or acetic at all with only a subtle lingering vinegar flavor in the finish that leaves me salivating for more. No solvent whatsoever. Its just bursting with uber fresh cherry sweetness. I can even pick up the skin and pit which compliment the earthier/mustier qualities. Delicious and excellently balanced, never becoming to sweet or funky/sour. Another great lambic from De Cam.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer pours a reddish color with a white head. The aroma has a ton of tart cherries, as well as a little bit of funk. The flavor is similar, with a little more complexity. I get a good dose of tart and sweet, juicy cherries. There is also some light funk, which goes well with the sour aspects of the flavor. Thin mouthfeel and low carbonation. A very nice fruit lambic. Glad I got to try it.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Pours crimson red with a pretty but tiny pink head and a delightful cherry aroma. There is a tart cherry flavor that has that Schaarbeekse like mellowness to it, though a little more tart. This is a great kriek.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle from Belgium. Pours out quite a sight: deep near purple dark hues, a medium red/purple head. The aroma is deep woody and sour lambic with huge sweet cherries. The flavor is awesome: super rich natural cherries, tart at times, sawdust, lambic bite. The fruit is really big and melds perfectly with the lambic base. A world class Kriek.
