Bottle, bought @ Den Tatoverede Enke, Cph.
Pours hazy yellowgolden with a fine, creamy white head. Good laicing and a fine duration. Aroma is citric tart, apples, light lime and oranges. Light carbonation, wonderful mouthfeel. Flavour is superbly tart, light lactic, but mostly citric. Good notes of oranges and overripe apple. Wonderful dryness with a light toffe touch at the far end. Great gueuze.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2006 Bottled sept 99. Sulphury, flowery aroma with oak and citrus. Also oak and citrus in the flavor. Grapes and just a bit of rubber. Very complex geuze with a good fruity sourness. Botlled 15.03.03. Locus Publicus Delft. Grapefruit aroma, grapefruity, woody flavor. Tasting and sniffing is hampered by the smoky atmosphere in the pub. Great geuze nevertheless.

Bottled @ Delirium Cafe: Orange/light amber coloured. Off white lasting head. Has a nice sour aroma, thats mingled with a fruity sweetness. Has some nice earthy notes. Medium sour flavour, thats balanced by a smooth sweetness which turn into fruitiness. Has a dry sourness in the end. Very refreshing.

Bottle… Cloudy golden ale with a small, fizzy, white head (that’s gone in a flash). Musty, stale, funkadelic nose. All the stereotypical, Belgian farmhouse aromas: barnyard, leather, mold, damp straw, fallen wood and fuzzy fruit. Heavily acetic (ethanoic acid). Light to medium-bodied and astringent with just a little too much carbonation. Heavy sourness; moderate bitterness; very low, pale grain sweetness. Damp wood and sharp cheese prod at, but don’t overwhelm, my palate. Finishes sour, caustic, and then dry. Kudos to ygtbsm94 for floating this one to me from across the pond!

courtesy of Toni Flükiger - hazy orange colour with a little foam; aroma of rhubarb, old apples and cellar with solid notes of vinegar, medium-bodied; the palate is initially smooth before a fair sourness; low carbonation and a dry sourish aftertaste of rhubarb and vinegar
