4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 puzzl (3071) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 31, 2007
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2007 2004 bottle and Delirium Cafe. Finally, a hugely sour, brutal and amazing lambic! We had 5 or 6 hard hitters before this, but this is definitely the star. Super-pungent, horse/sour aroma. Squinches the nose. Tongue-curling cherry sourness, horse-blanket and funk, perfectly aged... super-sour, super-drinkable, lively and complex. Nails the style. I’m sacrificing other bottles I was going to bring home for a big 750 of this stuff. I wish someone would convince these guys to bring their lambic to us desperate Americans!
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 JoeMcPhee (6835) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 31, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2008 37.5 cl bottle at Oude Arsenaal. 09/2004 bottling. Bright red colour, lightly hazy. Bright citric tartness immediately greets the nose, soft spiciness under the tartness. Light horsey funk, but also a light dusty/mustiness. Flavour is very bright and acidic. The soft cherry pit spiciness is accented by all of the tartness. Some almond and light cherry flavour throughout. The body is light and creamy at the same time. As it warms, the fruit and spice become even more apparent, integrating with the acidity and making it less apparent. Great balance… incredible brew.

bottle courtesy of boboski:
pours a beautiful red pink with a pink thin line head. aroma is very funky with small amounts of the cherry but mostly sour funk. flavour is very tart and sour with some cherry that adds just enough sweetness to make the beer faontastic.

Courtesy boboski. Pours a glorious red, with a medium light pink head. Smells of light cherries, and huge acidity and sour notes. I can tell this is gonna hit the cheeks hard. Big funky nose. The flavor has the monster sourness I was expecting. The cherries really dont stand a chance here as the funk and acidity really overpower all the fruity characters of this beer. One of the more sour beers Ive had. In the same boat as Cantillon in my opinion. Fortunately, I am somebody who rather enjoys an insanely sour brew, so I quite enjoyed this.
