4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 diabel (1537) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - MAY 6, 2004
De Cam Oude Kriek Hazy, red (like blood) body. Lots of carbonisation. Pinkish head which disappears instantly. heavily sour cherry aroma (probably from "Schaarbeekse krieken" (a sour cherry-variety).
It (the aroma) has a strong resemblance with the aroma of the Cantillon Kriek. The flavour however is a little bit less sour than the Cantillon’s. Moderately sour initial flavour. Moderately sour, lightly sweet and fruity long finish. Quite soft mouthfeel, little bit fizzy. This is one of the best Krieks I ever tasted.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 fiulijn (10390) - Como, ITALY - MAY 5, 2004
De Cam Oude Kriek Explosive bottle; cloudy red color; big pink head. Nice aroma, of ripe cherries, and light aroma of kernels. Very uncommon mouthfeel, astringent and sour, but thin body; lemon juice, almost no cherries, no sweetness.

Bottle. Thanks to Gazza for sharing this. Soft glowing dull pinky red appearance. Plastic, oak aroma. Initially mousse mouthfeel, but eventually settles (well, after Gazza has sat stirring it for half an hour) into a soft, puckering dryness with soft strawberry (not cherry) oaky flavours. Doesn’t rock my boat.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jeppe (2633) - Ølbutikken, DENMARK - APR 28, 2004
Higly explosive cork, it almost took Unstrups ceiling down! Pours a tall and frothy pink head on a hazy cherry colored body - what a beauty! Vinous aroma, sour with cherry and some wood. Flavor is very tart and biding also with wood and obvious cherry notes. Dry. A very nice and tasteful Kriek!
Thanks to Jens (Ungstrup) for sharing!

[Mine was an Oude Kriek] An unclear red beer with no head. the aroma is sweet cherries. The flavor is dominated by cherries and wood and only slightly sour. It has a very dry and somewhat sour end.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 JorisPPattyn (6728) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAY 25, 2003
Virtually no head. Clear-red beer. Vinous nose, fruity, not expressly cherry. Sour cherries in the taste, fresh fruit-like, not overly lambic-y. Yet very acidic. Very carbonated too - a bit too much even, the absence of head notwithstanding (rimes with the backgroundflavour of cherry-stones). Nice kriek - promessing. There was no label available, so no more details about age. Overwhelmingly good for such a young blender.
