rbesg06, bottle at delirium. bright ruby colour with a slight pink head. aroma of sour apple, cobweb, sour cherry syrup. intense whack of sourness which reminded me that my teeth have fillings which i think is why i also tasted some aluminium foil. crazily sour and crazily good. thanks to magicdave6 and garethyoung for the sample (and a few others)

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2009 375ml bottle. 2005 bottling date. Deep rich purple haze colored body. Satisfying perfumy plum and potpourri nose, with a musky, sweaty perfumed cherry scent. Flavor: brash, rich, varying, exciting and wonderous. Rich, slightly sweet, but very properly sour and tart. Wonderful performance on the palate, lasting well beyond the end of the drink. Side by side with Red Poppy and the De Cam is destroying it.

Jan 2006 bottle consumed in March 2009: little to no head formation but enough carbonation. Nose is intensely pitty and tannic, nutty and woody. Amazing level of tannic, dry cherry skins, reminds me of rough syrah and sour cherry pits. Amazing beer, one of the best krieks in existence.

Courtesy of BDR. An exceptional, fruit filled lambic. It is very thick on the palate, and has a vinous, unfiltered fruit juice quality to it that reminds me of Cantillon Blaebier or St. Lamvinus. Abundant cherry in the aroma and the flavor. Not as sour as some, but it is no Lindemans. A first rate fruit lambic.

(2002 vintage bottle from Reading BF, UK). My sort of kriek - gloriously sour, acidic and almondy which is oozing tradition - makes your tongue curl but in a nice way. Dry, cherried, almondy and massively sour finish which lasts for hours. Gorgeous.

This lambic ale poured with no head, eliciting a very cherry aroma. The flavor is sour but a little sweet and very very cherry. My drinking partner was given a bottle that was two years older, and I tried a few sips. It was a lot livelier (loud cork pop a much more head) and the flavor had mellowed considerably, balancing the cherry flavor with the yeast flavors. Both versions were excellent - perhaps the best kriek I have had.

Opaque dark cherry body with no head to speak of. Aroma is like walking into a cellar. More sour than acid but with a cherry taste that remains under control (I don’t like krieks with predominant cherry taste). I don’t think it goes through oak barrels but it tastes like it. Some strawberry flavours in there too. I wasn’t impressed by the gueuze but the De Cam Kriek might just be the best of its kind that I ever had. Another good reason why Belgium should be the next country we invade.

Bottle, thanks to brad in a trade. Pours a rad hazy body. Yeasty tart woody cherry funk. Very sour and lemon and light acidity. Amazing!

Very deep red for a lambic, with fine pinkish bubbles on top. Evil-looking. Smells like dried high-quality cherries, sour-aromas, slightly cheese-like. Taste is sour funk, quality cherries, slight sweetness that is balanced perfectly by the lambic sourness. Smooth full and round in the mouth. This is the best Kriek I’ve ever had yet!

Bottled 09.2004, so almost two years in the bottle. The cork went off with a bang, and the initial head is huge, almost uncontrollable. It died down quickly. Red colour. Complex citrus and cherry nose with some mustiness. Great fruity flavours, the perfect marriage between the citrussy lambic and cherry. Almond and wood in the finish.Very fizzy. It must be one of the best krieks around.
