COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike many other unblended oude lambik, there exists both draft and bottled versions of De Cam Oude Lambiek.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "De Cam Oude Lambiek" and anything less than 6 months-old under "De Cam Jonge Lambiek".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

750 ml bottle courtesy of Secret santa. Thanks. Pours a cloudy amber color with minimal head that instantly vanishes away. Perhaps this is a Jonge Lambik. The aroma is disgusting with extra funky horse blanket, whores dirty sheets and some barnyard bouquet--very nice. The flavor, like the aroma, is overtly funky with overripe fruits, cider, spoiled tart green apples, bit of sugar, oak and cedar. The palate is full and smooth with very soft carbonation. Finishes long and tart. Overall: I loved this, funkiest beer I’ve had in a long time. Thanks Santa you clearly went above and beyond to get me this.

Bottle, 2009 -thanks _angst_! Pours clear golden orange, really no head or lacing; a few bubbles perhaps. Aroma is funky, lots of wet basement, horse blanket, some cheese, oak tannins, a bit of fruitiness. Flavor is light tart, medium funky, a hint of fruity sweetness remains. Lots of horseblanket funk on top of oak and a hint of mushroom. Medium body, flat as a board. Pretty solid Gueuze overall.

Aroma of sour fruits, apples, peach, orange, vinegar, some barnyard funk. Flavour is sour and tart with just a hint of sweetness on the tongue. Surprisingly fruity and rather refreshing, an excellent Lambic.

Draft at De Cam. Nice bitterness, lemon, tart. AWESOME. Had this later on in the Volkscafé De Cam, and was much less impressed by it then. Did they add something or was it just a different barrel? I’ll score the version I had at the source itself.
