COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike many other unblended oude lambik, there exists both draft and bottled versions of De Cam Oude Lambiek.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "De Cam Oude Lambiek" and anything less than 6 months-old under "De Cam Jonge Lambiek".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

750 ml bottle courtesy of Secret santa. Thanks. Pours a cloudy amber color with minimal head that instantly vanishes away. Perhaps this is a Jonge Lambik. The aroma is disgusting with extra funky horse blanket, whores dirty sheets and some barnyard bouquet--very nice. The flavor, like the aroma, is overtly funky with overripe fruits, cider, spoiled tart green apples, bit of sugar, oak and cedar. The palate is full and smooth with very soft carbonation. Finishes long and tart. Overall: I loved this, funkiest beer I’ve had in a long time. Thanks Santa you clearly went above and beyond to get me this.

Tart and cheesy, some tart lemon and tons green apple. This is such a wonderful brew all the way around from tart to barnyard. No carb, typical, very dry. Gotta be your bucket list

Refrigerated 75 cl green bottle corked and capped, bottled February 2012, poured into a tulip. Pours clear golden with small white head. Aroma is slightly funky tart, light body, medium carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is tart, earthy, and hints of funk. I prefer Cantillon Iris to this.

2000 vintage bottle at Akkurat Stockholm, april 19th 2014. Dark golden/light brown body, no head to speak of. Unlike the younger version I’ve had this one has got a little bit carbonation, though it’s not very far from flat.  Aroma is vineous, wet dog, apples, quite sour. Taste is also pretty sour, tart grapes, mild banana, dry heavy acidic finish. Quite good.

Five year old lambic by De Cam, available bottled since 2004. Limited bottle refermentation lends it a weak, quickly desintegrating head, but the mouthfeel remains flat as expected from an unblended lambic. Soft and quite mellow as typical for old lambic, lemony, some woody bitterishness in the finish. One for the ardent lambic lover.

Bottle from Dranken Geers in Belgium. Funky and fruity smell with grapefruit. Similar taste. Sour with a sourness that reminds me of fresh fruit. Not overpowering. Very refreshing.
