COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike many other unblended oude lambik, there exists both draft and bottled versions of De Cam Oude Lambiek.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "De Cam Oude Lambiek" and anything less than 6 months-old under "De Cam Jonge Lambiek".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

750 ml bottle courtesy of Secret santa. Thanks. Pours a cloudy amber color with minimal head that instantly vanishes away. Perhaps this is a Jonge Lambik. The aroma is disgusting with extra funky horse blanket, whores dirty sheets and some barnyard bouquet--very nice. The flavor, like the aroma, is overtly funky with overripe fruits, cider, spoiled tart green apples, bit of sugar, oak and cedar. The palate is full and smooth with very soft carbonation. Finishes long and tart. Overall: I loved this, funkiest beer Iíve had in a long time. Thanks Santa you clearly went above and beyond to get me this.

This was definitely an oude version. 0,75 bottle at Mad for Beer pub in Rome - Italy, together with mortlach. Pours clear amber orange color, some bubbling phenomena on the surface. Nose: curry powder, green apples, stable. Mouth: mild tartness, very balanced sourness, white vinegar, fruity in a way.

Bottle @ fermentoren. Pours clear deep orange with no head. Aroma is very raw and authentic with a lot of rural notes, vinegar, horse blanket, oak, apples, weak floral notes and lambik storage room. The taste follows up with notes of horse blanket, fresh and almost floral notes, vinegar, weak vanilla, weak sweet white wine, goose berries and some oak. Iíve really come to like the unblended style and for what is is I think it is excellent and delicate.

Bottle at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a clear amber with no head. Aroma has green Apples, dust, leather, vanilla, gooseberry, apricots. Taste is very leathery dry, oaky, tart, but with some sweeter fruit notes. Some sweeter White wine grapes as well. No carb and slightly oily body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.75 Aged version 2009/2001 (depending if you prefer to believe the card or the label). Pale golden amber cloudy appearance. Very calm impression without foam. The smell is very thin with little notes of old feet. The taste is without carbonation very calm and sour. Quite dry, and the old feet come through as well. The aftertaste is even dryer and a bit boring in respect to the high expectations.

0.75l, bottled February 2001, at Moeder Lambic. I was expecting a 2009, so a nice surprise (at least thatís what it says on the label, but it also says 37.5cl on the label :D). Hay, wood, not too intense. Smells pretty old. Taste is fruit, wood, barnyard and even a bit caramel. Full taste and flat carbonation. Fantastic.

Lagrad 3 år. Luktar grönmögelost och äppelcider. Ganska tunn i smaken. Tyvärr inte så intressant som jag hade hoppats. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
