Unlike many other unblended oude lambik, there exists both draft and bottled versions of De Cam Oude Lambiek.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "De Cam Oude Lambiek" and anything less than 6 months-old under "De Cam Jonge Lambiek".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

750 ml bottle courtesy of Secret santa. Thanks. Pours a cloudy amber color with minimal head that instantly vanishes away. Perhaps this is a Jonge Lambik. The aroma is disgusting with extra funky horse blanket, whores dirty sheets and some barnyard bouquet--very nice. The flavor, like the aroma, is overtly funky with overripe fruits, cider, spoiled tart green apples, bit of sugar, oak and cedar. The palate is full and smooth with very soft carbonation. Finishes long and tart. Overall: I loved this, funkiest beer Iíve had in a long time. Thanks Santa you clearly went above and beyond to get me this.

Awesome olfactory aroma of cellar oak cedar barnyard with green apple sharpness. Flat no head. Flavor or sour peaches and hay with some yeasty spice and bread. True classic style lambic. Perfect.

Bottled version USA Distribution. Purchased at least 18 months ago and stored in the cellar horizontally. Enjoyed at fridge temp in a Gueuze Tumbler and allowed to warm and decant for a bit.

A - Nice darker orange, bronze / copper colored.....flat, obviously.

S - Nose is cheesy, wet hay, lemon skins and peach juice. A touch of strawberry and spice.

T - This is a very thin beer. Lots of funk, cheese, hay and grass. A little bit of metallic taste, juicy orange. Finish is very thin it does coat the teeth a little bit but not all that sour.

M - Oily, incredibly thin mouthfeel. Lingering copper finish.

O - Itís not great compared to most old lambic Iíve had but considering itís bottled and distributed, not a bad find. The price is steep in USA distro $ 35+ a bottle.

This was definitely an oude version. 0,75 bottle at Mad for Beer pub in Rome - Italy, together with mortlach. Pours clear amber orange color, some bubbling phenomena on the surface. Nose: curry powder, green apples, stable. Mouth: mild tartness, very balanced sourness, white vinegar, fruity in a way.

Bottle @ fermentoren. Pours clear deep orange with no head. Aroma is very raw and authentic with a lot of rural notes, vinegar, horse blanket, oak, apples, weak floral notes and lambik storage room. The taste follows up with notes of horse blanket, fresh and almost floral notes, vinegar, weak vanilla, weak sweet white wine, goose berries and some oak. Iíve really come to like the unblended style and for what is is I think it is excellent and delicate.
