COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike many other unblended oude lambik, there exists both draft and bottled versions of De Cam Oude Lambiek.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "De Cam Oude Lambiek" and anything less than 6 months-old under "De Cam Jonge Lambiek".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

750 ml bottle courtesy of Secret santa. Thanks. Pours a cloudy amber color with minimal head that instantly vanishes away. Perhaps this is a Jonge Lambik. The aroma is disgusting with extra funky horse blanket, whores dirty sheets and some barnyard bouquet--very nice. The flavor, like the aroma, is overtly funky with overripe fruits, cider, spoiled tart green apples, bit of sugar, oak and cedar. The palate is full and smooth with very soft carbonation. Finishes long and tart. Overall: I loved this, funkiest beer I’ve had in a long time. Thanks Santa you clearly went above and beyond to get me this.

Bottle from Systembolaget. A bit hazy golden with no head. Soft and refreshing. Apples, wood, some vinegar, funk and fruit. Not that sour. An excellent drinkability I must say.

@Basunen: ganska diskret doft av vindruvor. Absolut inget skum, ganska enkel men en väl balanserad syrlighet. Lätt men gott. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

brite yellow orange, light carbonation flattened out quickly, sour vinegar nose and real green apple aroma. Flavor is excellent tart brett hay etc. One of best examples. Hard to find real unbleneded lambics in US

Glowing yellow-amber color, with no head at all. Brett defined nose, sulphur and soap, with green apple skin, vinegar hints, overall pointing into a fruity direction. Unusual low carbonation, which leads to a fruity beginning in which mandarin, oak and lemon peel stand out, accompanied with slightly lactic notes. Acidity get more intense, the longer it stays on the palate, leading to a very sour overall impression. Still, it is very enjoyable due to barley malt and dough yeast, keeping the beer in balance. Lemony fruitiness stays on the palate with a dry sourness, leading to an even dryer finish. Easy drinkable and complex at the same time.
