Pours a hazy golden yellow from the bottle with fluffy white head that dissipates slowly to leave good lace. Aroma of funky barnyard brettanomyces and sweet stone fruit notes, hint of wood and acidity. Taste is an acidic bite up front, sweet stone fruit notes in the middle blended with wood, a funky ending that finishes dry and clean. Holy freaking wow, this is amazing.

Sampled from a 750 mL bottle during Zwanze. Pours a hazy red color, with a small, tan head. The aroma is tart cherries and orange peels, caramel, butter toffee, and a touch of salt. Sweet and fruity up front, with a tart and lightly bitter finish. Medium body, sticky, acidic, and clingy. This is a nicely complex and fruity lambic. Surprisingly well balanced and finishes clean. Very nice!

750ml bottle. Thank you, Karel!. Golden yellow colour. Modest white head which disappears quite quickly. Hints of apples, gooseberries, hints of other berries, vinegar, hints of white wine, hints of rowan berries, buckthorn, smooth liqeury notes and earthiness in the aroma. Rich! Gooseberries, applewine at first. Sourness and acidity in the middle. Hints of berries and wine in the end. Berries and sourness in the aftertaste. The palate is very rich and mouthfeel is also nice. Rather medium bodied, great fruit lambic.

De Cam Lambiek Special ’15 vintage Pours a bright blood red color, with just an orange hint in it, together with a medium sized, fizzy head, which vanishes completely after a few moments. Offers a young, yet profound funkiness, consisting of wet hay, blue cheese and glue, balanced by a citrus crispness. This foundation experiences a soft flower and grass aspect on top, leading to very unripe currants, raspberries and earthy cherries. Very complex with a character defining tartness, in which the fruits slowly find to their way. Has a higher carbonation, complimenting to the beers refreshing appearance, with a soft finish, in which the fruits shine, being able to unfold their facetts, guided by the preveiling tartness. Tastes of a surprisingly sweet initial fruitiness, reminding me of dried currants, wild berry jam and sugar coated cherries. This first impression lasts only for a split second though, since the beers omnipresent tartness evolves on the tongue rapidly, accompanied by a cheesy and leathery funkiness. It never looses its soft, aqueous, slightly mineralic mouthfeel, which makes this complex and easily enjoyable at the same time, and actually allows the fruits to contribute more than just their easily picked up tartness. More moldy, earth coated stone pit qualities cut through after the swallow, once the dust settles and all the carbonation has rushed through, building up a silk fruit richness. Its got a faint jam aspect, which could also be a hint of the ripeness of the fruits, with a prickly pulp tartness adding to the silkness. Awesome Lambic, unfolding a rollercoaster of flavors on the tongue, due to its world class mouthfeel. Its carbonation level plays a huge role in the perception of the fruits in this, opening up the palate to more and more subtle nuances, the longer it is on the palate. Its finish is a real highlight as it opposes the contrary of everything experienced so far, its very calm and nuanced, almost still, while its previous effervescence is still on my mind.

750ml bottle. Unclear sunset amber with a few wisps of white head that are soon gone. Aroma: shame I can read the fruit blend, but it’s obviously cherries and something else - I guess the blackberries fatten and add bracken, the goosegogs acidity and a mellow juiciness. But neither are obvious (not any any means a criticism). And after a while nor are the cherries. Spicy funk, almonds and a lovely tired woodiness. Slight feral green twiggy/ shoe polish note that is OK but suggests problems to come (wrongly, it turns out). A fair bit of body. Low carbonation. Lovely brooding autumnal flavours with damp hay, decaying wood, mellow berries; perked up by zingy gooseberry acidity, ripe cherries, spices. Finish is long and fades towards gentle fruit that you almost forget how punchily sour it starts. Very beautiful.
