COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle @ The Lets do a Chris O tasting. Pours golden, thin white head, low carbonation. Orange and general citrus on the nose at first and then you get a big wiff of over boiled vegetables and grass that has been mowed and left to rot, the taste is not much better, starts ok like the nose but then turns to this slightly off/slightly wrong taste, not good.

330ml bottle shared with jeevan, kinda glad he didn’t get the 750ml to be honest... Pours clear golden orange, thin white had, doesn’t last. Sweet aromas, light floral notes. Sweeter on the taste. Did my forefathers die for this? No. No they didn’t. Although some of them were involved in the conflict. That’s bye-the-bye. Goodbye-ee, We’ll meet again, etc. etc. Not a great boer, sorry, beer.

[750ml bottle, the Beer Hive, Edinburgh][abv 6%] Pours reddish copper with a decent white head. Aroma is sweet, sugary orange with some cereally grainy notes. On the flavour, lots of barley sugar. There’s a heavy malt ovaltine sweetness that lets the beer down really, and makes it fairly heavy going [24022014]

Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear golden body with a medium white head. Light carbonation and lacing marks. Aroma of honey, earth and grain. Sweet flavour of copper, sweetcorn and honey. Strange sour hint on the finish. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Far too sweet - I couldn’t finish it. This bottle was 6.0% ABV.

330ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki)
Red, tiny head. Massive kvass rye malt aroma, but smells sweet, raw and underfermented. Malty, mashy, and very raw in the mouth. Honouring poppies, what they stand for, is noble, but for gods’ sake do it with something good, not this crap. It’s an insiult to those who fought and died in the Great War. It’s so flat. It’s like a non-alcoholic malt drink, and as such I’d dismiss it as unrateable. Maybe if you heated this up on a stove, it would smell like brewing day, which would be better than it is to drink.

Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of hay, straw, light malts, hint of sourness in the background. Sweet malty flavour, raisins. Sweet malty finish, straw.

Bouteille 75cl, BB 01/2015. Reste correcte.
