4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Swaroga (792) - Brussels, - NOV 4, 201266cl bottle. Clear liquid with golden/orange color and medium snowy white head. Nose : tart with orange, orange zest. Apricot and lemonade. Sip : medium body with fluffy creamy texture. Low to medium carbonation. The taste is really interesting, quite different then any other IPA I tasted so far. It’s sweet with orange and tart, it develops a dry taste with aromas of orange seeds and orange bitter jelly. It’s surprisingly not that bitter as for this style but really satisfactory thanks to a well balanced taste and great body. Nice surprise.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Glouglouburp (5572) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 25, 2013
In short: A yeasty Belgian amber pale with the noble hops cranked up to the max. Very good.
How: Bottle 660ml, consumed a few weeks after I received it through private importation.
The look: Cloudy pale amber body topped by a large beige head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is spicy grassy hops, some yeasty esters. Taste is very yeasty, some sponge cake, orange peels, grapefruits flesh. A whole lot of grassy and herbal hops, strong spicy character, intrinsic dryness. Body if very fluffy, with a whole lot of big soft bubbles. I usually don’t like yeasty IPAs, but that’s when they are American style, this beer is clearly a Belgian ale but with the noble hops cranked up the American way. I liked that beer. This is my 5480th rating, and what a coincidence, today is the 5480th tomorrow I was going to start drinking less.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Vignale (1372) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 17, 2013
Flaska från beernavigator. Pours realy realy cloudy with big yeast patricals that decomposes in the glas. A big floral and yeast nose with citrus and apples there as well. Yeasty also very crisp and refreshing. Herb, grass, flower notes, citrus in a very well balanced belgian APA, well hopped blonde. Distinctive grassy hoppy bitterness Really enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 FatPhil (7498) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 7, 2013
330ml bottle (Punavuoren Ahven, Helsinki)
Lovely crisp floral and zesty hop aroma, refreshing and uplifting. A little bit sweet, but it’s hard to tell if it’s a caramelly sweetness or a juicy fruity sweetness - I guess it’s a bit of both. Clear orange, large tight off-white head. Wowsers in the mouth - pure fresh grapefruit. Lovely refreshing palate, full, but neither sticky nor drying. And lovely envigorating carbonation. Just a gently sweet caramelly body, but dominated by the zesty hops. Really bitter biting hops combines with the carboation to give an immense bite - wonderful. One of the crispest belgian beers I’ve ever had, and though the hopping is extreme, this is wonderfully drinkable. Amazingly, once you pour some of the yeast in, it gets softened, and becomes even more drinkable. For the full hop experience, I recommend clear.
