A gentle haze punctuate this straight golden ale which develops a towering frothy, dense white foam. Resinous and fairly green, herbal nose delves into the spicy, bready yeastiness to raise up a chivey, accentuated spicy profile. Not as fresh as I should have drank it, but I can see how the mostly faded dry-hopping must have been strongly flowery and resinous earlier on. At this mature stage (probably closing on 1-yr old), the yeast is fairly present though fortunately not stealing the show from the hops and the malt remains just gently cerealic and on the pale, bready side of the spectrum. This makes for a straightforward oiffering that does not necessarily strive for balance, but rather focuses on hops and I can see how enjoyable that must be for variety’s sake in Belgium. Fairly dry, yet convincingly warm and bold for a 6% offering, offering a relatively dense texture presumably thanks to the non-filtration and smallish, tighter than average bubbles. Hop-forward indeed despite having several months under its belt (BB Apr. 2014). Pretty good, though at this stage, it’s stronger on bitterness than aromas.

DWG; Bottle 330 ml. Drunk at Cardinal. Pours large, hazy gold with a frothy to creamy, lacing, off-white, lasting head. Nose is intense malt, tropic, yeast, citrus and spice. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter, still balancing with a lasting, citrus, yeast finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft to average.

Bottled. Pours golden with an average, lacing off-white head. Aroma of citrus, peach and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A nice Belgian IPA.

Bottle from Miorge-Mihoublon, Arlon. Nice fruity and citrucy aroma with a slight grain/biscuit touch. It pours a nice light orange colour, though after incorporating the yeasts tends to be quite cloudy (I like yeast ^^). The taste is nice, very refreshing, with a balanced fruitiness and bitterness. The finish is not to bitter and everything tends to converge to the idea that this beer is well balanced ! A flemish beer with a french name : this beer is Belgium in a bottle, IPA wise.

Bottle at home 5th December 14. Classy IPA, no as good as the Crime passionnel and the DIPA though. The aroma is pleasant, the taste is mild than I thought, but this is well made, slightly over carbonated for my palate. Over all decent

Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Vivid golden pour with a foamy white head. Appealing fragrant hoppage aplenty in the nose. Gently sweet flavour with lovely hops and tropical fruits in tandem with some notes of yeast, malt and grass. Satisfying bitterness and a top notch Belgian IPA.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2014 Nice gold hazy body. Amazing nose, very surprising, very earthy, almost meaty too me ;) The taste is OK but not great, quite disappointing in regards of the nose... The fizzyness is well balance though.

Draught at GBBF 2012. Poured a cloudy golden colour, with a white head. Aroma of fresh hops, orange peal and straw. Grassy hop flavours, with pine needles and some bready malt. Finish was bitter resin, tart peal and chalk.

Opaque light amber, strong white head. Nice American hop blast on the nose. Surprisingly sweet, balanced with some bitterness, bit thin body. Bit overcarbonated. Fades into watery bitter finish. Good, but I wouldn’t call this an IPA.
