A gentle haze punctuate this straight golden ale which develops a towering frothy, dense white foam. Resinous and fairly green, herbal nose delves into the spicy, bready yeastiness to raise up a chivey, accentuated spicy profile. Not as fresh as I should have drank it, but I can see how the mostly faded dry-hopping must have been strongly flowery and resinous earlier on. At this mature stage (probably closing on 1-yr old), the yeast is fairly present though fortunately not stealing the show from the hops and the malt remains just gently cerealic and on the pale, bready side of the spectrum. This makes for a straightforward oiffering that does not necessarily strive for balance, but rather focuses on hops and I can see how enjoyable that must be for variety’s sake in Belgium. Fairly dry, yet convincingly warm and bold for a 6% offering, offering a relatively dense texture presumably thanks to the non-filtration and smallish, tighter than average bubbles. Hop-forward indeed despite having several months under its belt (BB Apr. 2014). Pretty good, though at this stage, it’s stronger on bitterness than aromas.

330ml bottle @Luppolo Station (Rome). Pours deep golden, a bit unclear, with a giant head. Aroma is malty, caramel, citrus notes, orange zest, light floral notes and spices. Flavour is balanced, high malt profile with a decent bitter end. Medium body, medium carbonation. A bit boring...

From Boone (Nieuwpoort)

Bottle from at Cotteridge Wines; clear burnished amber pour with a frothy white head, aroma has marmalade and light spice, taste has light citrus, pale malts, digestive biscuit, a hint of grapefruit, ok.

Pure-tasting IPA. Peachy, pine-y, citrus (lime zest) and some yeast on nose. Overall, very balanced between hoppy bitterness (very international mix of hops) and refined, earthy but clean and classy finish. Quite the beautiful flower!

Bottle@Kaisla, Helsinki, Finland. Medium aroma with fruits like citrus and peach with hint of bitterness. Orange color with light/medium white head and hazy liquid. Medium taste with fruits combining nicely to malts and some hops. Balanced and soft. Medium taste spectrum and medium/long aftertaste sweeter fruits and hops. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall high quality IPA with especially soft touch.

I asked for a real IPA, and not a false advertised one like we can easily find nowadays, and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Aroma and taste are totally linked regarding hops, and the bitterness following it is just awesome. Sadly my written review is done four days after testing, so not very constructive, but the notes were done live.

Fruity, zesty, floral tastes and aromas in this refreshing, well-carbonated ipa. The bitterness of the hops although quite low-key while drinking is surprisingly lasting on the palate. Stock up for summer I say.

Bottle from the Trembling Madness, York. Pours golden with an off white head. Mild citrusy fruit aroma. The taste is lightly spicey with pine notes. Some earthy undertones. Very good.

Bottle 33cl. Amber with a white creamy head. Strong flower hops and some citrus. Nice flavour, bitter without being over the top. Medium length
