Had at RBBSG II, thanks to Martinus! Pours a hazy honey color with a light tan head. The smell is spice, honey and rich malt. The taste follows the nose...along with cherry, wood with a dry crisp finish. Light/medium body with a dry crisp finish. A decent beer if you like oak and spice.

66 cl bottle with BB Feb 2014. Pours copper with a big white head. Aroma is fruity with some hints of smoke. Taste is spicy, sour and smoked malt. Dry finish and light bitterness. Intresting beer

Cloudy amber beer, big pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and airy and a little crisp. Something of a sweet fruity nose. Light malt with light sweetness. Whisper of smooth smoke. Fruity tang. Toffee and bretty bitterness and a pinch of herbs. Finishes semi dry. Complex and unusual but doesn’t harmonise enough for it to really seduce me.

Bottled 2010 version, BB Jan 2012, large sample. Hazy orange color, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma of rosemary spices, oak and brett. Slight hint of smoke, but not a lot. Some citrus, Taste is quite dry, bit sour, slight spicy, just a hint of sweetness. I had this beer a while ago as well and cant recall any Brett, but mostly spices and a subtle hint of smoke. It was slightly unbalanced towards the spices then, but now the spices have blended quite nicely. However, I wonder if the Brett was intended. Makes up for a very interesting beer though and I quite enjoy it.

Quite bretty beer with a tardy sweet aftertaste. Some fruits and herbs in the body. (The rosemary I suppose) Smoke is hard to detect, due to the dominant brett.

From the brewery, @ Rooie Dop Brewdungeon. Clear golden colour, with an off-white head. Nose is yeasty, malty and spicy. Flavour is malty, bit of yeast, spicy, maybe bit of wood. I don’t really notice any smoke. Medium carbonation.

Bomber. A clear and sparkling pale to medium amber body, with an enormous, frothy, lightly lacing, mostly lasting, white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty (bread, hay), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs, lemon), lightly to moderately yeasty (barnyard, cheese), with notes of pepper, rosemary, wood, light smoke. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively/fizzy carbonation, long finish with moderate bitterness. Smoke mainly shines through in the taste, and so does rosemary. A lot more successful than the bottle of Noblesse Extra-Ordinaire I drank yesterday.

A clear golden colored beer, with a thick foamy, big white head. The aroma of fruits, hints of smoke and spices. The taste of fruits like citrus, with smoke and notes of spices. The aftertaste is sweet, some smoke with bitter notes.

from Erzbierschof; 2010 vintage - slightly hazy orange colour, aroma of wood, hay and oranges; some astringency; a good malt backbone and a tart bitterness; very dry and woody finish with solid spicy notes - too much wood presence for my liking
