Experimental, spiced and oak-aged version of the Bravoure, with a thick, yellowish head and murky ochre blonde colour, not as amber as the original version, for some reason (that can be no other than a different malt composition). Grainy and meaty aroma of apple, tomato, chicken soup, caramel, oak, cumin, broth. Taste starts off fruity and grainy, dryish with smokey and meaty character, something broth-like, lots of spicy notes that are hard to identify, finishing in a long, dry hop bitterness. Mysterious case, not sure what to think of this.

Bottled. Pours slightly amber with an average, lacing, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, yeast, spice, wood, funk and a hint of smoke. Sweet flavor thatends up dry and with bitter notes. Medium bodied, oily texture and average carb. A very nice ale.

Had at RBBSG II, thanks to Martinus! Pours a hazy honey color with a light tan head. The smell is spice, honey and rich malt. The taste follows the nose...along with cherry, wood with a dry crisp finish. Light/medium body with a dry crisp finish. A decent beer if you like oak and spice.

Cloudy amber beer, big pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and airy and a little crisp. Something of a sweet fruity nose. Light malt with light sweetness. Whisper of smooth smoke. Fruity tang. Toffee and bretty bitterness and a pinch of herbs. Finishes semi dry. Complex and unusual but doesn’t harmonise enough for it to really seduce me.

Bottled 2010 version, BB Jan 2012, large sample. Hazy orange color, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma of rosemary spices, oak and brett. Slight hint of smoke, but not a lot. Some citrus, Taste is quite dry, bit sour, slight spicy, just a hint of sweetness. I had this beer a while ago as well and cant recall any Brett, but mostly spices and a subtle hint of smoke. It was slightly unbalanced towards the spices then, but now the spices have blended quite nicely. However, I wonder if the Brett was intended. Makes up for a very interesting beer though and I quite enjoy it.

Quite bretty beer with a tardy sweet aftertaste. Some fruits and herbs in the body. (The rosemary I suppose) Smoke is hard to detect, due to the dominant brett.
