Bottled, thanks Wim & Els! Cloudy amber, mid sizd head. Heavy on cardamom and coriander. Mid sweet with some oaky tartness and medium body. Well rounded, relaxed and elegant, where spice and oake are nicely integrated with slight smoke and marzipan.

Cloudy amber beer, big pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and airy and a little crisp. Something of a sweet fruity nose. Light malt with light sweetness. Whisper of smooth smoke. Fruity tang. Toffee and bretty bitterness and a pinch of herbs. Finishes semi dry. Complex and unusual but doesn’t harmonise enough for it to really seduce me.

Bottled 330ml (vintage 2010, BB 09/2012)
Thanks bierkoning! Deep ruby-amber color, good cloudy off-white head, lace. Strong aroma of rosemary, wet wood, metal and some hickory smokeyness. Medium-bodied. Aroma didn’t promise much, but flavor is actually quite pleasant: light crystal malty backbone, some hops then herbs and spices, lingering smoke and wood. Feels more alcoholic than 6.5% actually. And fortunately rosemary does not dominate in the flavor.

Bottle. [thanks Jos & Cees]
Muddy greyish-orange with a lovely, staying, frothy, off-white head. Extremely pleasant aroma, herbal, bretty, oak, smoke, a bit of sulphur, crisp caramel malts and yeast. Medium carbonation, great dry and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, herbal, light smoky, a hint of egg, crisp pilsner malts. Exqusitely balanced with all those different factors in play. Wonderful.
