Nice super hazy orange tinted deep copper coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall off-white head - nice and thick looking. Aroma of yeast, deep malt, alcohol, sugars and tons of peat - not much smokiness, but definitely the rich breadth of peat. Medium to Full-bodied; Dense, full malt flavour at first with a lot of sweetness right behind from apples, pears, caster sugar and a touch of toffee with a lot of full yeast flavour behind it with some alcohol and a good taste of the smoked malt soon afterwards with it lingering at the very end, but not entirely noticeable. Aftertaste is a bit complex with a lot of sweetness, a good amount of malt and a nice smoked finish - not strong at all for any of those tastes, but they blend well in the palate and don’t overpower. Overall, a nice smoked beer if you don’t like smoked beers - shows a touch of the flavour, but more of a tripel or a belgian ale than a smoked beer. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from West LakeView Liqours in Chicago, Illinois on 03-December-2011 for US$4.99 sampled at home in Washington on 22-May-2012.

33cl bottle BB Juli 2013.

33cl bottle - BBD 04/2010. Ppurs bright orange with a white head. Nose of citrus peel and grassy freshness. Some funky hints... Fresh and complex aromas. Light body in the beginning, building up to the end. Taste is that of barley, grapefruit...

bottle, yellow coloured with foamy white head. Smell: yeasty nose with some fruity hints. Taste: yeasty, hoppy and nice fruits. Not the best "dochter van de korenaar" one, but decent one.

This is a very nice beer. Amber witha nice froppy had. Touch of hops and a nice smokey flavor. But the smokeyness isn’t so overpowering than a German Rauchbier. Kinda a bready texture and easy drinkable.

330ml bottle. Hazy amber with huge off-white macropore head. Fruity sweet aroma, mainly apricot, also strawberry and raspberry. Supressed smoke. Taste is sweet and sour fruity with a somewhat dry strawy finish. Lively to fizzy carbonation. Where’s the smoke gone to? You don’t need guts for this.

Bouteille: Hazy, light amber coloured, biggee loose off-white head, smoked malt and caramel detectable in the fruity and also slightly hoppy nose; almost solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; traces of warming alcohol in the citrus-fruity and sweetish finish, smoked wood and traces of caramel detectable. Good, good…

Olut näyttää valoa vasten katsottuna oranssilta, samealta ja runsaan kuplaiselta. Vaahdon väri puolestaan on melko lähellä valkoista. Oluessa on kohtalaisesti hiilihappoja. Hieman omituinen olut.
