Bottle and served in tulip: Pours a mostly clean orangy amber with a small fading head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of smoked meats, charred wood, caramel, rustic breads and a touch of metallic hops. The taste has a moderate smoky overtone backed by sweet malts with a touch of cherry pits. The mouth feel is slick and medium to light bodied with sparse carbonation, watery feel but bone dry aftertaste. It is better than I expected but seemed to be missing that something extra.

GBBF Day 4. The great Harrisoni/madmitch76 walkabout. Bottle. Hazy amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is very airy, fine carbonation but it’s a tad over carbonated. Light caramel malts and light cream. Traces of smoke and citrus. Light savoury note. Dry crisp finish. Pleasant, light and sweetish.

Smoked winter beer with yellowish head and deep amber colour, tending towards copper, misty. Made with no less than eight malt types including wheat, oats and Bamberg smoked malt, rendering it a lightly smoked character that fits in very well with the caramelly, meaty, apply, chocolatey and slightly woody components the taste is otherwise made of. Good peppery hoppiness in the finish, too. Yet another of Korenaar’s well-crafted ales, though I’m still not a great fan of smoke beers.

The doctor smoked beer that has a slight taste of brandy and smoked makrald. Fine smoked beer to the many summer barbecues.

Bottle 330 ml, poured into a tulip glass at home, ABV 6.5% Dark orange colour on the body, mostly clear, good sized off-white head on top. Good density, even better retention. Medium lacing left on the glass. Aroma of smoke, peat, peaches coing from the back along with sugar and some light yeast. Taste is sweet, fruity with a metallic touch, very light smoke and light citrus on the finish. Medium bodied, good carbonation, quite dry on the palate. Overall quite good, I’d prefer a little more smoke on the flavour. Very drinkable though.
