Bottle 330 ml from Willems in Grobbendonk (B). Amber reddish with flavor of toffee butter, brown sugar, cereals, hay and sweet chestnut. The taste is malty, sweetness of the wheat, toffy, milk chocolate, grape, apricot and soft apple. Little bitterness and a supple finish, hardly syrupy, citric notes and spicy aromas.

2010 bottle. Brown color. caramel, milk chocolate and pear in the aroma. Anis, pear and milk chocolate and toffee in the quite sweet flavor. Hint of pineapple. Anis in the aftertaste. Maybe a bit too sweet and spicy.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DruncanVeasey (6116) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2010
Deep copper with a fine, dissipating beige foam. Aroma of Everton mints, flaked fish food and dentist’s mouthwash on leathery old malt loaf. Maybe a trace too much mouthwash as it warms. Intriguing malty beast with an unusual interplay of mint, clove, milk chocolate, shrivelled old fruit (figs, prunes) and beechwood that’s difficult to pin down, and easy to like. Complex and very drinkable, without a hint of hop or alcohol. Medicinal, different, balanced. Keeps you pivoting your elbow gob-wards, and that’s always the measure of a good beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thewolf (9888) - Kolding, DENMARK - NOV 12, 2010
Bottle, bought @ EG.
A wonderful deep ruby red colour. Fine, medium, creamy, almost white head. Aroma has definite wheat, mixed with cocoa powder, some coriander, oranges, ’pomerans’, a bit milky. Medium, rather prickly carbonation. Fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is mild, chocolate dominates among dried fruits, a touch of spiciness, light malty dryness. Some coriander, cardemum and a bit of vanilla. Fresh and no hint of the 8 % ABV.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a reddish-amber color with an off-white head. The aroma has some toffee and citrus notes, but what really comes through is licorice.
The flavor is more of the same, with licorice dominating. I also get some bread and biscuit malt, raisins, dark fruit and some citrus. There is also a mix of spices, but I can’t pick any of them out individually.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 basspro76 (423) - New York, USA - OCT 13, 2010
Drank from a tulip glass poured from the bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a frothy head. Aroma is heavy on licorice, spice, even a little chocoate thrown in. Courage is a good name, cause that’s what you need to finish this brew. Overpowering spice and licorice flavor some grain and malt flavor as well.
