Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and metal, leading to a dry finish. The body is light.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours amber with a slight haze and a small and rough off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and fruit. Solid body, caramel, distinct peach and apricot accents. No real bitterness. Pleasant, but a Wheat Ale? 030410

Pale golden pour with no head. The nose is quite nice. Fresh hoppy nose with a distinct bubble gummy sweetness. A little bit of soft herbal character. Very light flavour. It’s a bit thin and citric with a kiss of wheatiness. Light tartness and a bit of acidity. It smells better than it tastes, but it’s decent.

330ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, chocolate, nuts, cardboard, anise, and a hint of coriander. Poured muddy brown in color with a small, tan head that greatly diminished but lasted around the edges. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, light chocolate, nuts, and anise. Medium body. Slightly tingly, slightly thin texture. Soft to average carbonation. Malt, anise, and slight chocolate finish. 8%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Bottle purchased from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Gent, Belgium, 19-02-10 consumed 27-02-10 Pours reddy brown with light beige filmy head that soon departs. Aroma is a dark sugars but not a great deal else save for a touch of alcohol. Taste is sweet, and there is something slightly medicinal going on, with possibly a bit off toothpaste or mint in there maybe, despite these strange flavour’s I actually quite like the beer, strength is noticeable but not harsh. Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, spicy, licorice - star anis, anis seed, coriander. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is medium to watery, carbonation is soft. [20091212]

Tap at the 2010 Max’s Belgian fest: Pours a transparent dark copper with a stringy-lacing white head. Aroma of toasty dark caramel and strong black licorice anise notes. Starts with some toasty biscuity malts and a touch of milk chocolate and lots of black licorice before a drier doughy finish. Pretty good, but a bit too much licorice flavor.

Tap at Max’s Belgian Fest 2010. Pours a deep ruby with a very fast fading head. Aroma is fruity esters, earthy, light hops, doughy biscuit and cream of wheat breadiness, toast, - some earth and herbs. Flavor is light caramel sweetness earth and very watery palate- seemed pretty thin overall?
