Found this on clearance at my local Binny’s. Date says 2009. Pours a very deep toffee color with a low, filmy off-white head. Aroma has a lot of sweetness with a large amount of toffee, molasses, brown sugar, light earthy hops, a touch of toasted maltiness at the very end. Flavor starts off with a very sweet brown sugary taste, mild toffee middle, a touch of chocolate and finishes with a smooth molasses, light raisin and light wood flavor. Body starts off thin but the high carbonation rate and very dry , sugary feeling at the end help to compensate for the water start. Overall not bad. The wheat is lost in my opinion in both the flavor and body. The yeast used can be tasted a bit in the beer now as it’s aged. Sweet notes are nice as they aren’t over the top and are balanced well with the malts used in the grain bill.

8/27/2011 11:23:41 AM Bottle from Beer Planet. Inviting dark amber body with puffed up head. Nose of malts, fruits, spices and plenty of wheat. Taste also spicy, wheaty. Gets sweet, even chocolate-like in the finish. Slight bitter finish, followed by dark chocolate. Enjoyable, for sure.

Bottle shared by Brresteijn, with JulienHuxley. Clear red color. Off white head, almost non existent. Aroma’s: sherry, mold, with mold completely taking over after a minute or so. Retronasal also mold, sherry, light sweet. Flavor is moderate sweet, old. Medium bodied. The mold made this completely undrinkable. Perhaps shouldn’t have rated this as it was an old bottle (2009)

33cl Bottle, thanks tderoeck! Amber-brown colour, thin white head. Aroma of mould, sherry, caramel, dark fruits, raisins. Flavour is also mouldy, sweet, sherry, raisins, but the mould is overpowering. Tastes rotten, literally. Medium bodied. The beer underneath the mould is good though. I’ll give it a 3 for effort, but it should’ve been 33439 2.2

Bottle shared by Rob. Clear deep brown red pour with a few bubbles of tan foam. Aroma is moldy, old beer, wet wood, sherry and oxidization notes not much else going on unfortunately. Taste is sweet, oxidized, metallic notes. Unfortunately fallen.

Special limited release winter 2010! Pours muddy brown with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel and brown sugar. Taste of caramel, sweet fruity malts with a slight sourness. Finish has sweet malts, brown sugar and a hint of mint. Nice one, alcohol is really well hidden!

Tap @ brewery, about 3 or 4 years old. Hazy ruby color, short head. Aroma of soft spicy yeast notes, bit of raisin, caramel malt, toffee. Soft sweet taste, bit spicy, bit dry. Brewer told he was not really satisfied with the result and I can only agree. He knows he makes far better stuff :-)

Bouteille 33cl, anno 2009, courtesy of and shared with 77ships @ Hoppy Loft. Couleur cuivrée assez trouble, col beige fin.

Obtained in a trade with Martinus. Thx! Shared with Sebletitje & Antoine @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. 2009 Vintage – only one ever made I believe? Last bottle from the brewers personal stack – nice. Glad to try another DvdK brew as always. Pours very dark brown with tanned bubbly head. Nose is huge old fruits, slightly oxidized, clearly aged but in a very interesting way, thick malts, light spices,… Taste has vintage notes but in a very interesting & good way, sweet oxidation, sherry, slight touch of dust, thick wheat, sticky malts, strawberries, cherries, yeasty, hint almost brandy-like notes, light herbs, raisins, jam, light liquorish,.. Slightly syrupy, thick jammy malt/wheat hybrid feel to it,… Aged very well – great stuff.
