4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
66 cl. split side by side with the Peated version courtesy of Dylan/Kraddel // obtained in a trade thx. to Tinus // Peated one is absolutely round, sweet honey-like especially next to this one, way different from what I remember it being // wrapped in a red giftwrapping paper just like its brethren // only the Ardberg sticker differentiating it & obviously the impossible to mistake with anything else taste // dark brown, touches of black, tanned head // smell encompasses all of the idiosyncratic-ness of this kinds of beers, it is pure medicinal, this belongs in a freaking medicinal cabinet not in a glass, does this disinfect? pure Islay medicinal smell and oh yeah it is peated as well, some malt underneath there as well, it draws you in // taste is sweet soft chcolate malts, milk chocolate sweetness, soft milk chocolate intertwining with medicinal Ardberg, creamy, touch berries, base beer despite or regardless of the thick medicinal Ardberg layer is still very clear, soft ripe dark fruits // smooth and damn creamy // I have been critical of these kinds of beer, despite the heavy whiskey this is excellent and I cannot stop drinking it & it is not only yummy but it is weird also, def bonus // recommended - favorite version so far.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clear dark brown colour, red hue, firm cream head. Smoky aroma, peat, chocolate, vanilla, cacao and lots of Ardbeg. Light sweet malty flavour, light astringent, wood, Islay whisky, bay leaves and liquorice. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Smoky finish, wood, Islay, dark chocolate and liquorice.
Very in-your-face Islay character, while still maintaining a sophisticated balance. I love it!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
0,66l fles gedeeld met Bryanvdv. Wat een prachtig bier om tte zien en te ruiken. Prachtig diep donkerbruin bier met bezinksel en veel gist. Volle bruine schuimkraag. In de geur gerookte whisky, geroosterde mout. Subtiele start met gebrande mout, peated whisky die rustig opkomt, mooi body er gebeurt veel in de mond. Tikje prikkelend, klein beetje CO2.ook iets medicinaal.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Almost black in color, small light brown head.
Smells like Ardbeg, really peated smell that overpowered the smell of the dark beer.
The taste is a hard one to describe, much much going on, the taste of the peaty smoky Ardbeg is very recognizable, the beer adds a camaral sweet taste, also a bit of a port taste as itís a aged beer.
This beer is something special, someone who doesnít like Islay whisky will not like this beer as much.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Dark brown color. Peat, iodine and a hint of chocolate in the aroma. Full bodied. Initial malty sweetness overpowered by chocolate, peat, ash, oak and iodine flavors. Alcoholic, boozy even. But what a delight to drink this top class beer!
