Wrapped bottle, striped black paper.(Oak Whisky Barrels)
An 9% ABV beer in which the fermented sugars were all obtained from malt (20 degrees Plato). A generous dose of hops and a long maturation time makes this beer best of the best. This beer is bottle conditioned and will go through taste evolution during many years. Matured for a quarter of a year on a selection of whisky casks. (Translation by Martinus)

Bottle at DØE summerparty. Hazy reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, roasted, brown sugar, oak/wood, a note of whisky). Flavor medium+ sweet, light sour. Medium to full body, some warming alcohol, quite flat.

Bottle....no : 12227... It pours hazy amber with a large fluffy creamy tan head..... The aroma is brown sugar, malts, caramel.... The flavor is roasted malts, brown sugar, whiskey notes.... very well balanced brew ! ..... like this !

Bottle @ WY tasting. Bottle nr.12233. Black coloured beer with some medium carbonation and a small off white head. Strong spicy malty and a light alcoholic hinted aroma. Full palate. Finish is strong oaky spicy and light alcoholic. No real whisky palate but still a very complex brew.

Very dark color, almost black, with medium sized brownish head. The aroma is mild, with some chocolate, roasted malt, very light cardboard, some feety yeast. Medium body strength, the body is quite round; roasted malt flavor, with chocolate and a strong liquorice character. The oak is not really evident, but there is just some alcohol perception.
Smooth round and flawless, this beer is well brewed, but there is too much liquorice.

Bottle: Deep dark brown colored beer with a medium vast tan head which disappears slow. Smell oatmeal, wood, light flowery, porrage, some sweets , light vanilla, honey, barleys malts and some sweeter darker herbs. Taste wood, spicy, light vanilla, liquorice, rose hip, light roosvicee flavors, barley malts, nice bitter and some sticky grains. Very nice tasting beer.  Aftertaste of wood ish barley malts, bitter, creamy dark barley sweetness and some light toasted herbs. Low carbo, soft light spicy, mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture. Very nice balanced.

66 cl. bottle. Pours a light copper-ish colour. aromas are whisky, a bit malty but too dominated by the whisky. The taste is again dominated by whisky. the beer is too weak to balance out the flavours from the whisky barrel. its a shame since the idea is good, but the result is moderate..

UPDATED: APR 8, 2012 66 cl bottle @ home. Pours reddish brown with a small white head – lot of lacing with a small amount of sediment floating around. Aroma is malty, yeasty, sugary, fruity, slightly funky. Taste is much of the same. Not much different from the original – perhaps a little boozier in both aroma and taste. ABV is not as well hidden as in the original.

66cl bottle, wrapped in paper with a label ’Special Edition - Oak Whisky Barrels’. Pours black, with an eggshell-colored head. Smells of vanilla, dried fruits, malt, cognac, whisky. Tastes somewhat smoky/roasted sweet malt, with some tart bitterness. A bit like lagavulin and some fruit. Texture is oily. Medium bodied. Finishes tart and dry, with a long duration.
