{thoughts} Balanced, sourish flavor differs greatly from the succulent, sweet aroma.

{elements} Dark, cloudy, brown hue; short, tan froth. Intoxicatingly forceful aroma of chocolate, prunes, whisky and toasted walnuts with a hefty kick of vanilla. Moderate-heavy sweetness, moderate-heavy acidity, light-moderate bitterness; tastes something like a Belgian brown ale; sweetness is countered by a (slightly too strong) sourness; finishes with good tannic firmness. Medium-full body, lively carbonation, silky texture. 22 oz bottle @ GP Tuulensuu.

Bottle @ home. Dark copper to brown colour with a big, beige coloured head. Smells malts, grains, oak, fresh. Tastes sweet, some alcohol, malts, some liquorice, oak, wood... Quite a lasting tastes. Quite sweet, but somehow I can actually stand it in this beer. Full body, warming to the chest, soft carbo.

Bottle from ABC. Nose of peat and smoke, wood, chocolate, caramel. Dark brown with orange tints and lace. Sweet and fruity in front, chocolate, orange, caramel, peat, tangy hops and fruity finish, pepper. Sweet and tangy then peat does not work all that well. Also quite thin. Disappointing.

bottle 66 cl. Very dark brown, with a big creamy head. Nose is malty, with some burned oak woods and a hint of vanilla. On first site there seems to be just sweetness and wood and no complexity. roling it through the mouth reveals a bit of more of the complexityDon’t drink this straight away or it will not show the full palate. It’s really a beer to enjoy. Flavour: wood(oak), sweet caramel, alcohol, vanilla and roasted malts. Medium body , oily texture and mild carbonationation.Long aftertaste. IIn short it’s a nice big ale with some whisky’s tones.

TimE (3091) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 13, 2013
Dark brown color, light brown head. Huge peaty nose with burnt wood, charcoal character. Very powerful. The mouth starts too sweet, smokey, very malty. Boozy and intense, but the sweetness really takes this off balance. Not that palatable and little complexity. Warm peaty finish. Very unimpressive.
