COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wrapped bottle, striped red paper with sticker "Peated whiskey cask" on the lower right end of the "logo"
An 9% ABV beer in which the fermented sugars were all obtained from malt (20 degrees Plato). A generous dose of hops and a long maturation time makes this beer best of the best. This beer is bottle conditioned and will go through taste evolution during many years. Selected by the brewer from his best peated whisky casks. Matured for a quarter of a year. Winner of the Zythos Beer Festival (ZBF) consumer prize 2011. (Translation by Martinus)

Dark brown beer, good tan head. lactose nose with some medicinal tinged whisky. Softish palate, a little dry. Semi sweet orange cream supports mellow smoked whisky. Creamy and semi dry finish. The two disparate elements join up quite well in to a quaffable beer. Much better than the lain whisky version!

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2013 On tap at Boudeijn’s Biercafé, the Hague. Amazing taste sensation: full-bodied, extremely peaty and smoky. Alcohol well hidden. A beast. Like a whiskey: more for sipping than drinking.

Pours red no head. Smells like a peat fire with alcohol. Tastes like an islay scotch. Very peaty, roasted, caramel, carbon, spiciness, alcohol bite. Finishes a bit dry and spicy.

Bottle at a Chriso tasting, London - big thanks to Bruce. Pours a lightly hazy red-brown with a moderate, frothy cream head. Dry fruits and leather on the nose. Big sweet flavor with semi-dark fruits, light leathery fruits, brown sugar, some berries. Full bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Fairly warming to finish, with brown sugar, dried berries, toasty malts. Great balance, depthy character.

On tap at Mission Dolores during our bar crawl through Brooklyn. Pours a clear amber brown with a thin white head. Big peat, soft malt, lots of smoke. So peaty, big smoke, malt and sweetness. A big burning rubber and smoke note, lots of malt, peat, and toast. Long lingering smoke, full of rubber and tires. Aftertaste of hot whiskey. Interesting.

Cloudy/murky deep amber pour, thin ring of off white head ... Aroma of smoked peat malts and caramel malts with a nice scotch whiskey as well .... taste is like a chilled scotch whiskey very peaty and smoked with light caramel malts, dry oak and some dark fruity yeast ... light bitter backbone ... mouthfeel is dry and a little oily ... finish is dry bitter and oaky with a lingering warming bite .... abv hidden pretty well .... very drinkable
