wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 15, 2010
{thoughts} A swirling triad of roast, dark fruits and savory components make for heady experience.

{elements} Seal brown hue; off-white froth. Smoky -almost peaty- with rich figs and a deep, gamy undertone. Moderate-heavy sweetness, moderate acidity, light-moderate bitterness, light saltiness; dark fruits roll into a roasty finish. Medium-full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. 33 cl bottle @ GP Tuulensuu, best before 09/2011.

Glouglouburp (6104) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 5, 2010
In short: A heavy, earthy and fruity Belgian amber ale with a light annoying sourness. Just ok.
How: From a bottle at Montreal Mondial de la Bière 2010
The look: Cloudy amber body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Nose is malty, forest floor notes, fruity and with a little sour touch. Taste is earthy forest floor, caramel, brownies, dark and red fruits, sour dark fruits. Big full heavy body. It started ok but quickly the light sourness was annoying me. It really did not feel infected or anything. Just a strange sour-ish dark fruits flavor that did not sit well with me. Overall it was just an ok beer. I expected something better. On the positive side I just had a rare beer and beat my own personal record for number of ratings.

A reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. A pleasant caramel aroma, with nuts, nice floral hops, fudge, quite nice. In mout, a smooth nutty chocolate, malt taste, quite nice and herbal, oily mouthfeel, vinous notes, quite good. Bottle at Mondiale 2010.

Pours dark with a thin whitish/tan head. The head does not stay around long and leaves little lacing. Aroma is malty with some caramel undertones. Tastes of raisins, malt, caramel, and a slight hint of vanilla. Very nice balance of all the flavors melding to make a very drinkable beer.

Mondiale 2010. Dark brown coloured body with almost no head. Faint lace drops. Big spiciness and well malted. In your face full mouthfeel, that has a little sourness and lots of malt taste. Subdued carbonation. Drying finish. Like a good brown beer on steroids.
