Brown to black colour, small off white head. roasted malts, cacao and chocolate in the aroma, also in the taste. Sweet pure chocoloate, somewhat dry, medium body and finish. Alcohol doesn’t add that much, maybe some warmth.

Strong quadrupel-like beer. Lots of ingredients, including dark fruits, some light smoke malt and coffee. Very nice.

A dark brown beer with a quite big and light beige head. The nose of dark fruits, bready malts, strawberries, roastiness and hint of spices. Taste is roasted with some coffee, also dark fruits and spices, prunes. Overally quite dry, nice. Medium+ bodied, balanced carbonation. Somehow, quite demanding, but rewarding beer, tastefull and not too sweet.

A murky brown with a beige head. The aroma contains some coffee, toffee, and nutmeg. The flavor is rather malty with a hint of smoke. Lots of toffee, nutmeg, coffee, and spices. The finish is a bit dry. Overall a nice beer!

I think this must be my favorite dark beer! De dochter van de korenaar has one of the most beautifull botles + labels in my opinion. I also have this beer in a few different oak aged versions, but Im saving those for a good moment. This beer has a very complex and rich taste. I´ve tasted dark suger, caramel, roasted nuts, dark fruits and a bit coffee. Very good balanced and a slightly bitter aftertaste. Great warming winterbeer.

Everyone else loves it. I do not. Brown. Lots of sediment. No head. Aroma is peat. Taste is like licking a rusty shovel.

Holy cow. Very nice. Bottle from Randall's in St. Louis. Amber brown pour. Malty with dark fruits and caramel. Some bitterness on the finish.

From the bottle (33 cl). Dark, brown color with cream head. Smells like dried fruit, raisins, coffee and a tiny bit of castor sugar. Think in terms of taste of dark chocolate, malt, lightly toasted, little coffee and a tiny bit of vanilla. Full but soft taste: such a delicious beer.

Dark ale with lots of hops and some coffee aroma in a very complex beer. Fantastic beer experience. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
