Bottled (nr.332). Dark brown coloured beer with a large white head and little carbonation. Rather strange aroma, light soury on the one hand, sweet malty roasted with some drop-licorice touched hints. Medium to full palate. Finish is again strangly touched, sour sweet, malty and roasted hints. Very particular and distinct beer, but not my kind of flavour.

I have had this a couple of times but oddly enough I have never gotten down to reviewing this beauty // 33 cl. bottle @ ‘t Waagstuk // (a) dark brown with a lighter tanned head // (s) darker malts, nuts, mocha, lighter touch dark fruits, chocolate // (t) bitter mocha, cocoa, chocolate, lightly bitter half-dried dark fruits, berries, nuts, chocolate, hints of dark bread, Porto in finish, lightly vinous, hints of jus in the beginning, really lovely // (b) nice smooth, substantial body // one of the better dark Belgian ales in my opinion

Bottle. Dark brown color. Malt, dark chocolate, caramel and cinnamon in the aroma. malty sweet flavor with caramel and cardemom. A bit too sweet maybe. But not a bad beer at all.

33cl from Willems & Zoon. BB Dec. 2013.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2012 66 cl bottle @ home. Pours reddish brown with a small white head – not much lacing (a little sediment floating around). Aroma is malty, yeasty, sugary, fruity, slightly funky. Taste is much of the same. ABV is incredibly well hidden.

Bottle from Björn, thanks. Bottle comes in a brown bag, perfect for american winos and litle strange. Thin grey lace. Brown color. There is much raw tobaco in the aroma and also some in the taste. There is also sweet caramell and a god bitterness in the taste.
