3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark reddish brown, almost opaque, very small tan head. Nose of ripe fruits, dark malts, and chocolate. Taste to match nose ... made me thing of a St. Bernardus 12. Sweet fruits linger in the finish. Lovely with choucroute.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled, 330ml at Cafe Manuscript, Ostend, West Flanders, Belgium. V Dark Brown with cream head. There is a sweet, fruity, chocolate flavour up front with this, strawberry hints along with a vanilla extract type character. Liquorice then comes through and a sweet finish. Decent.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
pours unclear light brown, bright red tint, reviving beige head, nice lacing. tons of grapes, welch’s grape juice *TM, red maltiness - borderline rotten; brown sugar and butter, perfumey booze, hint of smoke, salt. almost foamy carbonation, light to medium body, semi-sweet, woodsy and fruity-spicy finish. a very fruity red belgian strong ale. suffering from its age, but it is a quite unique pseudo belgian offering.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Brown, with a thin tan head. Aroma is plummy, and taste is the same. Very brown rich tasting beer, with no discernible barrel character (is it from a barrel?). Thanks, Dan!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer pours with a darkred to brown colour. On the nose it’s mostly smokey and bitter. Taste is also bitter. A soft, smokey experience with a hint of alcohol and ripe red fruit or raisins, maybe a bit of coffee as well.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark, red-brown beer with a beige head and a smell of fruit, malt and caramel. Flavour is sweet and rich. Malt, fruit, caramel, a touch of hop so it’s not just sweetness and the aftertaste has a bit of a lingering bitterness to it as well. This is a very nice beer.
