Number 1400 WooWhoo!! Popped the cap on this and had a small gusher. Lots of carbonation here I guess. Pouerd a deep chestnut brown with a thick khaki head. Took a while for the head to dissapate to a drinkable level. The head laced the sides during the whole drink. The nose is toffee sweet with dark fruits, malts, vanilla, brown sugar and caramel. Flavor is not overly sweet. Hints of vanilla, dark fruits and nuts with a nice alcohol warming and a small spice bite on the tounge. Mouthfeel is slick and finishes with the spice lingering around while warming my belly.

Rocky, persistent and wide head. Opaque brown-black body. Aroma evokes raisins, prunes, black fruits. Ellegant and smooth. Medium to strong body, soft carbonation. Alcohol amazingly masked. Very balanced taste, not so sweet as you would expect, with raisins, coffee, prunes.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap into a wineglass showing chocolate brown with a finger of clean white malt.
The nose shows smoke. Not much else.
The palate is moderately carbonated and medium bodied. Moderate bitterness constantly reappears in a background with light smokiness.

Donkerbruin, troebel met dikke beige kraag. Wat drijvende gist aanwezig. Aroma is fruitig: vijgen, bosbessen, druiven. Verder vanille, chocolade, koffie, toffee, alcohol. Behoorlijk zoet, licht bitter en droog op de nasmaak. Zacht en volle body. Erg lekker!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
33cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured a murky chocolate dark brown with a two finger tan head. Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, vanilla, alcohol, raisins, dark fruit. Taste: Dark chocolate, roasted espresso beans, burnt toffee, vanilla, dark fruit, dates, salty licorice, spice, nuts, figs, raisins, currant bread, caramel, plums. Wonderful creamy and malty, yeasty mouthfeel. The taste reminds me slightly of a cross between Rochefort and the Struise Pannepot. A medium to full body with a malty and fruity bittersweet finish. Really enjoyed this amazing brew!
