Hazy amber beer, big pale cream coloured head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Big sweet creamy malt, very sweet. Touch of evaporated/condensed milk. Hops are spicy pine with a little orange and a touch of peachy tropical fruits. Smooth finish. Mild bitter linger. Interesting - 14 hops in this DIPA and yet so much milky sweetness from the malt. Decent though!

Gedronken vanuit een 66cl fles. Een oranje kleur, met een lekkere geur. De smaak is weer geweldig, nier te overheersend

0.65l bottle from Martinus in the the Euro Swap II. Thanks man! A really good looking light cloudy kinda golden orange looking one in the glass this and it has a big fluffy beige head with great retention on top. The nose has first tones of both baking yeast, citrus zest, sweet orange marmalade, some wood traces, a little bit of both wet grass and pine hops. Itís definitely not to Americanized and punching your in the hoppy face, itís more subtle - like it has been living in the forest a quiet and subtle life before it ended up here in my TÝrst glass. It has lots of flavor. Itís super fruity with lots of watermelon sweetness and honey. Yeah, lots of honey, but itís somewhat balanced by a strong and alcohol prickling bitterness. It has an extremely gliding oily feelings in the mouth and the carbonation is just below average. Itís also really grassy bitter this. Could one call this am English style double IPA? Itís definitely really tasty! The whole experience ends with a light flourish and yeasty finish with prickling kinda strong and definitely present alcohol tickling the back of my throat in the aftertaste. Thanks Martinus! 08.10.2013

An orange beer with a hansom, dense, blond and big head. The nose is fruitfull, tropical mangos and sweet citrusfruits. Nice aroma is mix of fruits of fermenting and tropical hops. Taste is tropical fruity, also some other fruits, lots of pine needles and citrusfruits, some herbs. The bitterness is strong and that is nicely balanced with sweetness of body, the overall impression is still nicely dry. Medium+ bodied, fresh and easy to drink that is quite rare to DIPA. Now I can say that Extase is enjoyable DIPA, strongly bitter and easy to drink, tropical fruity and piney.

(Drinking date: 21 March 2014) Hazy, golden/orange-coloured beer with a layer of white, creamy foam which stays on the beer. The beer looks really delicious. Nice aroma of citrus, pineapple, malts. However, I expected a much more intense aroma. The taste is really bitter, for me a bit too bitter. It starts slightly sweet, but then the bitterness comes in. Hoppy and malty taste. Due to the high bitterness, all the other flavours fade away. Long-lasting medicinal-bitter aftertaste (not nice!!). A little bit less than medium carbonation, and a slightly thicker mouthfeel, good mouthfeel. I think this is a good beer, but it is too bitter. I?ve had (much) better double ipa?s. That?s why I give it the total score of 3.5

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Hazy orange color with a decent head, which leaves a long staying lacing. Intense Aromas of yeast, lemon, orange and soap, which results in an unusual but pleasant melange. Hop is foremost defined by orange, grass and limes. This ale is definitely on the hoppy side, fantastic bitterness resulting from the floral start, long lasting on the palate. Has a dry, chewy mouthfeel. Warm, yeast orientated beginning, soon gets overpowered by hop freshness, without being too aggressive. Malt stays in the background the whole time, adding a sweeter note the the body, without being distractive from the hops, which are huge in this. The beer gets actually quite bitter in the end, still leaving some space for limes on the tastebuds. Also wheat remains on the palate, which creates, in combination with the hops, a unique popcorn-like flavor. Very recommendable ale, in which the best of both sides blend well together (Belgium - yeast, wheat; USA - aroma hops, fruity bitterness).
