Bottle at a Chriso tasting, London - thanks to Bruce for this bottle. Pours hazy gold with a frothy, white head. Big tangy aroma, some peach. Medium sweet flavor, fairly sweaty and funky, with a bit of overripe orange. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Medium sweet finish with some rindy citrus bitterness, mellow sourness, sweat, funk, soft pale malts. Very nice.

The ChrisO small midweek tasting. Cloudy amber beer, decent pale tan head. Woody dry beer - fairly sour. A little light smoke. It’s all right.

Very nice balanced. Good appearance. Good suggestion for a first time gueuze drinker. Vibrant and round in taste. Nice!

Bottle at Punta Birra. Murky burnt orange pour with a white head. Hint of smoke in the nose. Smokey and sweet with muted orange notes. A break from the ordinary with good carbonation and body...

Countbeer (4028) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - OCT 3, 2012
Bottle: Medium airy off white creamy head, changes into an half open lacing on top of a hazy amber orange colored beer. The smell is awesome, super smooth balanced, excists of four things: the typical geuze smell with wood, rubber (both also typical Lambic) and smoke. The taste is so smooth so soft and well balanced: yeast, barn, lactic sour, wood, white wine wood, some smoke, some older malts and herbs, hint of honey, some light soft and smooth fruit tones, light bitter, some smooth spicy notes, but overall a very very nice geuze taste which is soooo smooth! Aftertaste is short: some grass, malts, light sour, light bitter and nice wood tones. Low carbo, soft almost silky mouthfeel, medium to full body and a creamy texture. Sour ale? This is a Lambic Geuze and this is not just a simple one. Delicious over all! Dont wanna write too much, I am Enjoying (capital E) a good beer!

brokensail (9918) - Orange County, California, USA - OCT 2, 2012
Very hazy amber pour with a huge khaki head. Smoke and bandaid notes up front. A definite oak, some light tartness, grassy funk, a touch of earth, and some mild malt sweetness. The combination of smoke, bandaids, lemon, and oak on the flavor is not appealing. Some mild earthy funk, a bit of grass, and some hints of fruit. Really weird and unpleasant.

Bottle at Chriso - 25/09/12 thanks to Bruce/Deeblo. Hazy orange/amber with a very thin bubbly white head. Sour nose largely citrus tones and some peach. Taste follows on, lemon, peach, apple, tarte fruits, slightly rustic and some woodiness. Medium bodied with a gentle mouth puckering finish.

Scopey (5506) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 30, 2012
Bottle, many thanks to Bruce at ChrisO. It pours hazy orange-amber, with a thick off-white head. The nose is fresh citrus fruit, tangy grapefruit, mouldy wood and light smoke. The taste is lemon, grapefruit, juicy watermelon, zippy citrus peel, earth, mouldy wood and sharp tartness, with dry, lightly tart finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Interesting and well balanced.

Big thx. to Martinus for gifting me this one // I am always up for more good free sours :) // 66 cl. that looks like 75 cl. cheeky // Apparently won the 2011 Silver Award for Belgian Lambic Geuze style at the European Beer Star Awards, neat // its a gusher which is never a good sign, especially with sours // hazy, very murky peach coloured beer with a BIG slowly descending white head, lacing is awesome // smells of soft, murky fermenting peaches & summer fruits, that red wine smell that this type of beer have, red wine gone lactic with wood or something like that, this is strongly lactic, souring, touch exotic fruits, youghurt // round soft mushy overripe fruits, apricot, peaches, summer fruits, strongly lactic / youghurt, stone fruit, perfume :), once again that woody lactic red wine thing but not dominating the fruits or the youghurt // murky, hazy mouthfeel // good but feels a bit like the body needs to be thinned out by either age or by more aggressive bacteria but that might be a personal preference
