an all-malt barley-wine, double mashed to obtain 27 degrees Plato; two brews, blond and dark brewed seperately and blended in one fermenter, where it was fermented with both beer- and wine-yeast. Dry-hopped lightly one day before bottling. A beuatifull red coloured-beer, rich and full with a scent of cherries

Mooie heldere donkerbruine kleur met een dikke beige schuimkraag. Ruikt zoetig, naar stroop en port. Smaakt heerlijk, zacht en zoet met een goede bittere nasmaak. Bijzonder lekker.

cloudy red amber, small brown head. quite delicate aroma that is mostly fruity, sweet fruity and dark fruity. very clean, quite complex. faint alc. burn.flavor is bitter like wood, honey, alc., faint dark fruits, a little bit flowery bitter from hops, not as fruity as aroma, a europeans tyle bw of quite decent quality with a fruity twist. quite complex, and if you like euro style bw, you will likely find this one pretty amazing.

Bottle to glass. Murky deep amber brownish color with a light tan head. Nutty, caramel, molasses, booze in the nose. Flavor is sweet, nutty, boozy. Medium body with a linger in caramel molasses sweetness. Decent.

Bottle served in my female body glass @ home. Dark amber to brown colour with a fairly large beige head. Smells malty, sweet, some alcohol, slightly hops, slightly hay. Tastes slightly iron, oxidized, malty, sweet, some alcohol. Bottle says it should be drinkable until at least november ’16, so it shouldn’t taste like this already if you ask me. Quite deep taste, full body, soft to medium carbo.

Troebel roodbruin, bijna witte kraag. Heel droog, weinig zoetheid. Je proeft nogal wat alcohol en een beetje hout. Niet onaardig, maar een beetje een tegenvaller.

Bottle 50cl. Very dark brown/red with a nice foamy light brown head. Nose has hints of yeast and sweet malt. Rich and very strong beer where the high alcohol percentage is very present. Not a beer for beginners. It needs a few minutes in the glass to open. Finish is nice hoppy/bitter. It’s not a sweet beer. Very special.

Bottled. The aroma has caramel, raisins, some oranges, hints of citric hops. Bit hazy, red-brown coloured beer with an off-white, thin head. The taste is moderate bitter with caramel raisiny sweetness. Well bodied. Nice bitterness in finish. Tastes a bit unbalanced still, guess this bottle (2013) needed another year.
