an all-malt barley-wine, double mashed to obtain 27 degrees Plato; two brews, blond and dark brewed seperately and blended in one fermenter, where it was fermented with both beer- and wine-yeast. Dry-hopped lightly one day before bottling. A beuatifull red coloured-beer, rich and full with a scent of cherries

Troebel roodbruin, bijna witte kraag. Heel droog, weinig zoetheid. Je proeft nogal wat alcohol en een beetje hout. Niet onaardig, maar een beetje een tegenvaller.

Bottle 50cl. Very dark brown/red with a nice foamy light brown head. Nose has hints of yeast and sweet malt. Rich and very strong beer where the high alcohol percentage is very present. Not a beer for beginners. It needs a few minutes in the glass to open. Finish is nice hoppy/bitter. It’s not a sweet beer. Very special.

Bottled. The aroma has caramel, raisins, some oranges, hints of citric hops. Bit hazy, red-brown coloured beer with an off-white, thin head. The taste is moderate bitter with caramel raisiny sweetness. Well bodied. Nice bitterness in finish. Tastes a bit unbalanced still, guess this bottle (2013) needed another year.
