(draught) pours a clear deep amber-ruby colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of heavy burnt toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, liquorice and crème brûlée. flavour is dark chocolate, cherries, raisins and bubble gum, quite sweet and alcoholic, with a light-bitter finish, a bit harsh. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from IP trade with 77Ships, cheers man! :-) Pours a deep dark brown body with an orange hue and a medium creamy khaki-colored head. Nose is faint sweet caramel tones and red berries, with hints of toffee. Not too overwhelming. Taste is a strange mix of sour, fruity ester tones, Belgian yeast, deep caramel malts and metallic hints. Alcohol is well hidden, though some near-tart yeasty tones in the back adds to the chaotic picture here. Full body, medium to high carbonation. Not very impressive, but an interesting and rather different barley wine.

Bottle from Malting Pot. Bold dark amber body with puffy, tan head. Nose is sweet, vanilla, malty and chocolate with plummy fruit notes. Taste is barley, malts, caramel, gets a bit warm and then get sharper, medicinal with a barley finish. Really nice beer well done and the alcohol level properly masked.

50cl bottle at home. Brown coloured beer with some medium carbonation and a smaller brown head. Light herby sweeter malty hinted aroma with some malty alcoholic touched aroma. Creamy full palate. Finish is strong, hoppy bitter with a malty alcoholic sweeter fruity touch. Complex and strong with a long dry malty alcoholic ending. Not bad.

Clear red colour, almost ruby, firm white head. Aroma of malts, cherry, light hops, light liquorice notes, honey, fruits, apricot, rose hips and summer fruits. Malty flavour, fruity, malty sweet and light alcohol touch. Full body, finish cherry, fruits and light alcohol touch.
The alcohol doesn’t really show through, considering the quite high ABV, making it pleasantly drinkable. Can’t wait to see what this beer does when it ages.

Bottle@Festival Brassicole de Tournai 2013. - 15cl pour at room temperature on a very chilly March day, the perfect warmer, with unnoticeably high ABV. Not a style I naturally tend to order, but I will have any Dochter vd Korenaar brew at least once. As in all other DvdK brews, this excels in subtlety and layers of dry, fruity and roasted malts and a pleasant hardworking yeast. Plum, chocolate, cherry, caramel all working in harmony. No alcohol whatsoever, a pleasant sipper, but not an instant favourite like Belle-Fleur or Embrasse.

Bottle @ Deans crappy music tasting. Thanks martinus! Aroma is thick malty sweetness and caramel malt. Flavour is slight tangy hops, thick malts. Expected a bit more, in body and in flavour. Good beer though.

Countbeer (2853) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAR 8, 2013
Bottle: Medium sized, vast and slowly, very slowly settling down beige light tan head on top of a hazy murky dark ruby reddish brown colored beer. Aromas of malts, barleys, roosvice, chalk, raisin, creamy roast, prunes, creamy roasted grains, a light sour touch and some creamy peach. Flavours of roosvice, barley malts, bitters, light spicy (which grows), raisin, light chalky, some wood, toast/roast, some red fruit, a sprinkle of yeast and some light floral tones. Aftertaste is malty with some light creamy fruit tones, light bitter spicy note and a touch of grass. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a light oily texture. Nice beer, tasty and thick, but to be honest I love to taste this when held in barrels for a while. No trace of the alcohol, good!

Bottle. Reddish dark brown color. Malt, dried red fruit and floral grassy hops in the aroma. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel. Well balanced mix of malt, dried red fruit and floral herbal hops. Soft and silky. Alcohol noticeable but not dominant. Well balanced, tasty barley wine.
