1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
In short: A bowl of yeast, unfermented wort and overripe fruits… Gross.
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed as soon as delivered to Quebec but already around best-before date :(
The look: Muddy blond-amber body, small particles, large white head with good retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: The somewhat repulsive nose is straight-up wort and with yeasty notes and overripe fruits. Taste is more of the same. Yeast and more yeast, dough, overripe pears, the sweet juice from canned peaches, wort, stale water, awkward bitterness. This beer was wrong on so many levels. I’m actually being generous with my numbers because Quebec received this beer when it was already around expiration date, because the bottle was really really nasty. I am not about to forgive De Dochter for the money I wasted on this awful beer, and I can hold a grudge for a very very long time, I still hold a grudge against my parents for making me believe that airplanes are delicious.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
66cl bottle. Large pillowy off-white head atop murky apple cider body. Aroma is medium sweet, straw, some orange. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit/orange, some straw, light bread. Soft light-medium body, alcohol bleeds through a bit, but otherwise very drinkable.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A very interesting beer. Pours a nice cloudy orange with a lot of tan head. Smells a little fruity, with some citrus and apples. Taste is very complex, starts with a saison taste, some hoppiness in the middle, and surprisingly, a fruity smooth finish. Some apple overtones. Good beer!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Poured a hazy bright hay color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of semi-sweet Belgian-style malt with some weird floral hoppy notes. Taste is also dominated by semi-sweet Belgian-style malt with some weird dominant hops notes with some fruity flavours and some weird herbal notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Not sure that herbal and lemony notes form the hops is a great addition to this beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cloudy, gently sedimented golden pour covered by a thin white sheet. Spicy sourdough dominates this vegetal, rather green nose in which gingery/peppery notes complement the herb basket. Tartish foundations have a minimal lemony undertone that may once have been due to dry-hopping, but there is little left of it at this point. Without it, the beer feels a bit tame, bending very strongly toward the tartish bready yeast which is not the cleanest strain around, but seems fairly attenuative which rimes with the malt not contributing much either. Biting, lively carbonation has an expanding quality not unlike a Fantôme. Finish is spice rack reminiscent.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy orange, huge yeast aroma, some farmhouse, doughy backed with hops. Dry on the tongue, some citrus, bitter. Lovely

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
My Bottom Line :
Prevalent doughy yeast rules within this super fluffy Belgian Ale, forcing its bready flavors onto herbal, citrusy angles.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-Creamy foam icing rests atop the cloudy pale amber.
-Light peaches appear here and there.
-The finish is so yeasty, it is redolent of mushrooms.
-There is nothing extra-ordinary here. It feels like the announced dry-hopping was washed away on the boat to North America...

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is malty and hoppy with yeast and paper. The appearance is cloudy copper with a sudsy head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall this is a drinkable but forgettable beer.
