Clear amber golden colour, firm, fluffy white head. Aroma of malts, light apple, toast, light spicy yeast, light hops, pine, ginger (stemgember). Nice, but relatively light aroma. Quite bitter flavour, sweet malty, light mineral taste. Mineral finish, bitter hops, sweet malts, moderately long finish.
Somewhat less pronounced hops as in previously tasted bottles of XO. Seemingly somewhat older. Lovely allrounder now though.

Tasting @De Molen
Hazy amber, white head. Aroma and taste has an nteresting somewhat spicy sweetness, some yeast and some distant overripe fruit. Would this have a higher alcohol percentage and more body, it would have been 4+

Copper body and soapy head. Fruity aroma, spices, raisins and some alcohol. Drier than expected and with a sourness that I can?t find very attractive (although I usually like this). Bit too thin. Decent taste but great nose. (At the De Molen tasting)

22.4 ounce bottle - $9.99 at Hop City in Atlanta, Georgia. Best Before End: Nov 2012.

Appearance: Heavily clouded, orange-golden body with a foaming, rocky, off-white head. The bottle was not exactly a gusher, but, still, there was a steady surging foam over-flowing the bottle.

Smell: Hard butterscotch candies, malted wheat, a generous dusting of blood orange-flavored drink powder, and dried pine sap with a firm, fragrant backing of menthol-like florals.

Taste: Butterscotch brushed bready malts and straw-hinting wheat malt, though it’s never overly sweet, as the spicy hops, resins, orangesque citrus character, alcohol, mentho-lyptus phenols and a rubber band snap of carbonation balance things out. Medium-plus bitterness. Moderate acidity. More alcohol, fruit, and now some black peppercorn on the back half. Drying, zesty, foamy finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. High carbonation. Slightly oily texture to the mouthfeel.

Overall: Extra Ordinaire? I dunno. It’s Extra Something, alright.

Flat-bottomed 660ml bottle. Fine-headed, heaped, spiralling orange..and that’s before it’s even left the bottle. Wafts aromatically with coriander-peppered wine gum; grain, blackcurrant, candied orange, lavender, a little urinal- a sackful of resonant, fresh, floral hops basically. Taste: cream zested with lemon, botanicals, juniper, sugared marmalade. Lean, floral and biting with a perfectly judged, sweet malt base. Bittersweet and perfumed. Another beauty from De Dochter.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2012 Bottle. Thanks to countbeer for this one. Almost clear, golden liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of grass, Belgian yeast, wheat, cereal malt and flowery hops. Taste is very light sweet and medium bitter. Hoppy and yeasty notes. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Nice and hoppy, refreshing.
