This is something along the lines of an American pale ale. It is a lighter hoppy brew that has a mild yeast character despite itís nation of origin. Itís pale blond w/ a foamy and quickly diminishing head. Nose is fruit-forward, citrus and pineapple. There are some floral notes as well as a bit of a mineral character. This is a light to medium bodied, slightly oily w/ carbonation on the mild side. Light sweetness brings out a lemon citrus quality and a hint of tartness keeps it from feeling too sluggish on the palate. This is a nice and very drinkable ale.

Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Aroma of tropical fruit along with some grassy hops. Dry and hoppy flavour with a touch of grain and some cookie spice. Good hoppy and bitter finish and aftertaste

[3/6/11] Draught at ZBF 2011. Hazy golden. A rather weak aroma with some fruits, yeast and hops. Flavor of citrus, some yeast and a moderately bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. Cloudy dingy gold. Small off white head. A sour aroma and flavor. That flavor is light with soft yeast, lemon, damp grain.

330 ml bottle in Germany. Pours a golden color, has lots of bubbles and a thick white head. It gets cloudly as it sits. Aroma is very nice with lots of bubblegum, ginger and coriander. Taste is much the same but with more bitterness and bite. Palate leaves you wanting more, has a lingering dryness that is a turn off. Over all it is good stuff.

Bottle from Samís, Durham. After trying this breweryís smoked gueuze I was curious to sample another offering. This is an average brew, alas. While I wasnít expecting anything much given the style, I still found it underwhelming. Its virtues are its simplicity and clean taste. Dry with mild bitterness and just a hint of fruit. But thereís also something overly ripe about the yeast in this beer that undermines the simple pleasures. Okay, but nothing more.

Tap. Pours hazy gold with a small, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grainy, meal, cereal), average hops (herbal, grassy), and light esters (fruity) with notes of ginger and coriander. Flavor is heavy malt (grainy, hay, straw), average hops (grassy), and average esters (fruity) with notes of pepper, coriander, and horse blanket. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth and creaminess with a dry finish.

Comes in a pretty plain looking 12 ounce green bottle. I hope itís not skunked. There is a heavy yeast depisit on the bottom. I will have to have a careful pour even though I like yeast, this seems like a bit too much to swirl around. Pours a hazy gold with a nice white head with nice retention. Also some nice lacing as the head dissipates. Smells like a cornucopia of yeasts and hops, Iím getting some farmhouse saison scent with a huge whiff of hops and yeast. Definatey that Belgian yeast smell. Iím happy itís not skunky. Taste is powerful, you initially get some malt and pre-hop lemony/lemongrass taste then a massive blast of yeast and hops hit. The yeast flavor seems to dance on the tougne and the hops last forever and it finishes with a bitter surge. This a strong and good tasting beer. The mouthfeel is pretty good, itís mellow as you start your drink with a kick of carbonation in the finish. Its a pretty good and pretty unique Belgian ale, a very good on occasion, not a session beer for me though.

Nice hazy orange body, good white head. Aroma of orange, hay, cilantro, grass; very fragrant. Starts with a fruity sweetness but dissolves into a dry aftertaste. Alcohol too faint. An interesting drink.
