3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
660ml bottle (Kaisla, Helsinki)
6 Sweet flowery blossom aroma.
3 Deep cloudy orange.
6 Simple malty body, quite yeasty, but I did pour the yeast in. Flowery in places, but not as light as the aroma.
4 Full and sweet, a little sticky.
13 Adequate Belgian ale - bit doesn’t really grab me.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(33cl bottle) Hazy, orange-golden colour with a big and quite stable foamy white head. Slightly sweet and sourish citrus-fruity aroma with spicy and yeasty notes. Light-sweet and sourish flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively, slightly fizzy carbonation. Distinctively citrus-fruity and yeasty pale malty taste with shades of grains; dry and sourish fruity finish with a moderate length and tinge of spices and bitterness. The beer does not offer a cornucopia of flavours but might be pretty refreshing in the summer time (24.II.09).

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the Diamond. Pale golden pour with a thin head. Nice yeasty nose. There is a touch of light fruitiness, apricot and a soft berryish note as well. A very light bready pale malt flavour. Fairly herbal with a little bit of spice on the back. The hoppiness is pretty nice. Light minerally character with a prominent noble hoppiness. It works quite well. Warming brings out a touch of light zesty citrus. Dry palate. Solid brew really.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Little whitish rim; (cold) hazy pale amber ale. Grain, graindust, chaff, and slightly manure (not too bad), as well as moss. Very grainy taste - this really lives up to the breweries’ name. Bit of caramel retronasal, sweet ending. Light to medium bodied, grist slickness, not particulary wheat (wheat being used in the recipe). Not undeserving - unpretentious but overall quite OK beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Mort Subite, Atrincham. Hazy blond appearance. Clean and distinctly hoppy. Quite highly attenuated. Crisp and fresh with a herbal bitterness on the finish. Pretty tasty. Excellent Belgian session beer with a rather higher bittering hop profile than many Belgian ales. I had it from bottle, but if you want to try it on draught, they have it on tap in the New Oxford.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a transparent bright golden with a clingy-lacing white. Has a lightly skunked herbal grassy nose with a touch of grainy pale malts. Starts fairly dry and grassy with a touch of biscuity malts and mild grassy hay tart bitterness before a dry earthy finish. Seems like it would be better fresher, but doesn’t seem to be anything exceptional.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A Mes rate: Bottle at Manc Winter Fest.
Lovely golden yellow colour, rather hazy and a thin but well behaved white head. Spicy and yeasty aroma but very good. Straight down the line flavour but it’s just one of those that hits the spot all round. I’ll agree with Fin about the slight wheat beer character. Lovely dry and spicy finish. Great stuff. Once more hats off to Wyn for taking the decision to import this stuff for the UK market.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Paradiso Dupont. The pour is a full cloudy, glowing bright gold with really no head wanting to form. No retention/lace. Nose up front is muted and soapy. As it warms it gains melons and summer fruits- mostly sweet pineapple like pineapple upside down cake. Taste at first is really soapy with detergent and mouthfeel similar to scented baby powder. As it warms, thankfully, it moves to some seriously sharp grassy and herbal hops. Overall it ends up coming across as watered grapefruit juice with a powdery palate. Weird, but interesting.
