Bottle served in tulip: Pours a nice clean golden hue with a fluffy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of pils and wheat grains, some herbal and piney hops, a dash of apple skins, a bit of earthy minerals and fresh oak. The taste is mostly yeast and malt overtones displays lovely restrained earthy yeast note to pair against the minimal hop bitterness. Lots of pils malt which is nice. The mouth feel is properly carbonated, refreshing and slightly dry. I like this more than I expected, a very nice near session ale. I will try again.

This was the Dochter’s first, originally bottled in green bottles; brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot and seemingly an attempt at making a Kölsch-style beer. Equal, moussy, yellowish white head, thin but stable. Ochre and orangey blonde colour, cloudy. Grassy hops, light sweet pale malts, wheat, lemon, apricot, pineapple, hay, all in a subtle way and doused in a ’wild’ sauce reminiscent of barnyard, like a good saison. Soft carbo, relatively thin mouthfeel, smooth, light sourish wheat, light bready maltiness, low fruitiness as in a real Kölsch, strong peppery and resinous hop bitterness in the end - very agreeable and even surprising given the relatively neutral start. I’d rather have a slow start and satisfying finish than the other way around - which is more often the case. Extra points for that.

Bottle. Another very pleasant discovery from De Dochter. Golden, white head. Faintly malty aroma with some fruity overtones. Taste the same plus hops. Palate distinctly hoppy. Quite complex, especially given the low abv 5.5%. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: grass, straw, little citrus, dust. Taste: grass, spices, floral, lemon, apples, wheat, pilsener malts. Lively carbonation, light-medium body, somewhat sticky mouthfeel, medium bitterness, dry, somewhat tart barnyard finish. Shallow at first sip, but turns out odd and interesting.

Good looking beer, golden with thick frothy head. Malty, sweet aromas and light on the taste buds. Too much carbo for me and lacking in any real character but not unpleasant.

Reminds me of Hillfarmstead and the shitty manure like quality that is prevalent in their beers. That is not a slight on either brewer, but this is musty and barnyardy as it gets. Lovely, smooth body of bubblegum, honeyed apples and a prickly earthy finish. Odd and interesting.

Thanks to Rian for sharing! Pale in the glass, nice floral nose. The beer starts fresh, smooth, easy to drink. A bit of dusty-yeasty background. Very nice and smooth. The aftertaste is long, fresh-floral, slightly sweet with a nice floral aroma.
Nice! 12/13/12/12
