[Vintage 98, sampled February 2004] An unclear orange brown beer with a fine head. The aroma is sweet with notes of corriander, hops, fruit, and plums. The flavor is sweet with notes of spices and corriander. The end is dry and hoppy with notes of corriander. A very nice beer.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Papsoe (22987) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 18, 2008
(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Hazy, amber golden with a small, off-white head. Lightly tart, fruity nose. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel, sourish notes and a fusty edge. Very subdued bitterness. Great to finally get the chance to try this, but unfortunately the beer is way over the top. 120108

Flavour is smooth fruity, dried and cellared. Solid acidic to bitter finish with a lingering fruity note. Nice brew even after 10 years.

My # 3400th rating. Shit. Thanks Rene for trading this. 1998 vintage. Pours clear amber with a small creamy white head. Nose is deep. Vinous, matured, dusty, oxidized, yeasty. But it also has a very fruity touch to it. Sherry, vinous and fruity. No doubt it is past its prime but its also obvious that this once was a world class beer. Just grateful for trying this. Thanks.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAR 6, 2008
33cl bottle at Erasmus. Deep orange/gold with some haze, thin lasting beige head. Got a bit of must on the aroma. A bit of dust, but the lasting marmalade is lovely. Just a bit musty for me.

Caramel. Sweetness. Vineous. Light oxidation. Light berries. Honey notes. Peppery. Fruity. Nutty. A bit old - but still nice.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 thewolf (8626) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAR 11, 2009
Bottle @ Brasserie Erasmus, Brügge.
[vintage 1998]
Pours clear coppery golden with a small, frothy, off-white film head. It disappears rather quickly, though. Aroma has cellar, red apples, port, wood. Still maintains a fairly high carbonation, but the mouthfeel remains a bit below my expectations. Flavour is great, though. Some port, wood, maltiness, caramel, toffee mix with a whiff of smoke, some graininess and just a faint hint of something tart. Impressive.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Christian (8548) - Odense, DENMARK - OCT 1, 2009
Dark golden with a small off-white head. Vineous aroma with spice and licorice. Somewhat oxidized. Sweet and vineous flavour with spicy and fruity notes, and the classic Dolle tartness
