33 cl. bottle. Gushes out when opened, foams up with huge fluffy head. Pours with a yellow/orange haze once the bubbles finally die down. Aroma is orange peel, lemons, coriander and Belgium yeast. Yeasty undertones deliver a bready light aroma under the citrus. Taste is similar, very citrus, bready, and spicy with some sourness. Finishes a bit dry, but the aftertaste is refreshing and lingers nicely. A nicely done strong ale that hides the 8% very well.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Neeskens (276) - SWEDEN - NOV 20, 2010
Bottle. Damn that’s a massive head and it sure takes it’s time to settle. The actual brew is hazy pale yellow. Aroma is dough, belgian yeast , grapes, orange, spices and there a nice acidity. More of the same in the flavor plus a lot of banana, and that acidity, or should it be tartness, is more present. It’s quite dry and have a good bitterness at the end that really makes it stand out among its fellow belgians.
