SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 29, 2009 330 ml bottle - huge fluffy white head and fuzzy gold in color; head settles slowly; flowers, dough, yeast, lemons and citrusy hops; lovely texture with sweet hops, lemons and yeasty spice; a little on the thin side and mildly dry; pretty great though as the spice really brings it all together; yummy beerbill (1918), Laurel, New York, USA Sep 26, 2009 33 cl bottle courtesy of a trade with AtlAggie. Pours a cloudy gold with a large linen white head that became very rocky as it slowly deflated and left lots of sticky lace. Very pleasant yeasty aroma with tart apple and orange. The flavor is more dominated by yeast than the aroma with some very light tart apple and a bit of sugary sweetness. Bright on the palate. Enjoyable. bluebetty (91), Australia Sep 24, 2009 Very cloudy, cooper to tan colour. Strong white head that eventually disappears to a centimetre or so. Lots of lace. Typical belgium ale aromas. Lots of yeast and hops. Some malt sweetness and a little yeasty on the palate but for the most part it is all about the hops. Good body. Nice beer. Hops are not overpowering and are softened somewhat by slight malt bitterness.
machfive55 (218), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 15, 2009 The beer pours light amber with a huge rocky head. The aroma is spicy, yeasty, with orange citrus notes. The flavor is mostly citrus and a little hoppiness. The palate is dry with a nice carbonation and a big alcohol presence. Overall a nice Belgian with some very drinkable qualities. wouterpulinx (27), Belgium Sep 9, 2009 33cl. Pours dark yellow/gold, huge head. Nose is lemon, biterness. Nice hoppy aroma. Ultimate thirst Quencher!! BigBeer45 (676), Troy, Michigan, USA Sep 8, 2009 Has an almost clear orange, gold pour (there is a touch of haze) with yellow tints, gave a billowing white head that reminds me of Jolly Pumpkins Bam Biere, the head almost filled the glass and hung around for the ride, lively effervescence, aromas of mild wild flowers with faint herbs and honey sweetness, pale malt, light fruit fragrances of peach and orange, lemon citrus, flavors of pale malt, hop herbie bitterness, small light fruit and sweet on the palate, the hop bitterness and citrus sour slap give this ale a pretty dry finish, and I found my lips and tongue tingling long after the finish, feels light on the tongue, this stuff reminds me of some of the Trippels I have sampled, a very nice light drink. wimpie133 (130), Brugge, Belgium Sep 6, 2009 Bottle, 33 cl. There are some breweries wherefrom you can’t do anything wrong choosing their beers to drink. "De Dolle Brouwers" is one of them. And also the "Arabier" didn’t disappoint me. It’s a blonde-golden hazy beer with a beautiful white lacing uneven (= beautiful) head, that becomes a thin but lasting head. The smell is hoppy, herbal and a bit fruity. The taste is like I expected it: very good. You have a hoppy and malty taste, accompanied with a herbal, spicy taste, finishing light bitter. Nice carbonation also. I have the feeling I already drunk such a type of beer, but the "Arabier" is certainly one of the best versions of this type! DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 3, 2009 Almost a tripel in some ways. Pours hazyblonde-gold with a nice looking low sticky white head. Aroma yeast and fruit and citrus. Taste of grapes and citrus and hops, Herbal and peppery feel, substantial, the ample carbonation feels great This beer pairs majestically with fresh green grapes and I’m betting Arabier was intentionally made a little hoppy-dry to go well with food. Outstanding.
