Commercial Description:
Arabier is a pure malt beer brewed with flower Nugget-hops from Poperinge. It has the special dry-hopping taste and aroma, so appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. It is one of the two main beers from De Dolle Brouwers available throughout the year. Aging time is limited due to the fact that hop bitterness declines with age. Store arabier cool and dark and serve cool at 10°C.

Cloudy yellow-orange color with huge head that rises over the glass without spilling. Huge yeast aroma with spice. Huge yeast taste. Bitter, tongue curling, eye squinting, acidic, dry finish. Obscured by Yeast.

Gusher but pours cloudy tan with a giant ice cream float head. Nose is kind of messy - yeast, fruit, caramel, lemon, sweet malt. Flavor is buttery malt, yeast, some spice, honey, apples. Warming alcohol in the finish.

Clear and golden with an out-of-control head and tons of heady lacing. Gorgeous aromas are unbelievably yeasty and champagne-like. Wow. Bright acidity and phenomenal hops. Some grass, hay, and woodsy flavors. Really delicate. Chalky, dry malts on the finish. I totally enjoyed this.

Bottle from my lady friend. Pours hazy gold with voluminous white head. So voluminous that it took almost 10 minutes for it to fade enough to the point where I could start drinking it. Plenty of lacing from this one too, certainly deserving of a 5. Aroma is decidedly Belgian, with coriander, yeast, and hay jumping out first. Also got a whiff of those earthy hops that people keep alluding too. Taste features the hops more prominently methinks, very earthy. Also get the hay again along with some spices. Sticky mouthfeel with a slightly bitter and yeasty finish.

vintage. Year 2005 (or 2004) Yello/gold coulor. Nice white head - semi long stay. Spicey and yeast aroma. Still very alive and kicking with a long aftertaste.

11.2 oz bottle. Heavy offputting funk initially on the nose. Lots of earthy mustiness. Mushrooms and wet moss. Some sweeter bubblegum and yeast, but the funk overrides the sweetness. Pours a nice looking copper/gold with a thick and creamy white head. Mushrooms and corn tortilla on the tongue. Some wet grass and wet tree bark. Perhaps a bad bottle. I’ll grab another and see...

4/21/06: 11.2 oz bttl. Pours a hazy, amber-yellow with a huge, frothy, white, fully-lasting head rising like a ice-cream float meniscus... Aromas of heavy yeast, dough, soap and evergreen sap.... Initially lightly sweet flavor with bananas and bubble gum mixed in and a dry med finish... Light-medium body with lively carbonation and a metallic, taco-cornmeal finish... Pretty good, though the finish killed it for me... Much thanks to Will Knight...
