Slightly acid, tart, fruity, phenolic and buttery aroma. Sweet and slightly sour flavor with herbal dry hops, grapefruit and clove. Few years ago I had a much better bottle of this. cbeers21 (564), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Hazy brown/gold with foamy head. Yeasty, wheaty notes are present as well as peppery apple, and spice aromas, cloves, coriander, citrus and slight alcohol scents. Green apples and wheat flavors appear at the front of the flavor, developing malted, light sugary tastes and layered spice experiences with a touch of warming alcohol as well. The beer overall leaves a drying spicy sourness which is not overwhelming, but rather pleasing. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Updated: Apr 24, 2008Rating update: On tap at the De Dolle brewery, with Kris, Kris’ lovely mum, Carlo, and some other new friends. Previous rating still works, except that fresh like this it had a beautiful anise seed note in the aroma. Really a stunning beer, and a privilege to taste it here.
Previous Rating: Bottle, with Fin, Loz and Traci. Hazy orange, nice tower of pretty white head. Candy sweet hops, herbal, dandelion. Menthol fresh, brisk hopping, wheaty sweetness, touch of alcohol warmth leading to a clean finish. Really nice beer! I was surprised to read this is all malt--impressive to get a refreshing beer like this without any sugar in the fermentables. Thanks Fin! (8/4/8/4 16) pantani (1896), Salinas, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 19, 2007 Bright orange/amber thick white head. Aroma is citrus, orange peel, nutmeg, alcohol, pale malts, plenty of depth and complexity in the aroma. Taste is citrus, plenty of spiciness, light alcohol, and a little bit of sweetness. Real good belgian. drfabulous (1225), Columbia, Missouri, USA

But little else except nice hops coming to mind. Anyway, it’s not as valuable to me to note beers so late...but I want this one on my record. Beershine (2686), Hue, Vietnam

De Dolle rocks and so do their labels. The Arabier is sensual and mysterious. Each sip renders new secrets. Dry with hints of smoke. Sheer delight, my appreciation builds each time I open a bottle. Arabier and the others are maybe a ? of time. The yeast is bitter in a "strange" way for me, but hopefully I gain the force to enjoy it one day! ucusty (1880), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
