Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA Aug 20, 2007 Updated: Apr 24, 2008Rating update: On tap at the De Dolle brewery, with Kris, Kris’ lovely mum, Carlo, and some other new friends. Previous rating still works, except that fresh like this it had a beautiful anise seed note in the aroma. Really a stunning beer, and a privilege to taste it here.
Previous Rating: Bottle, with Fin, Loz and Traci. Hazy orange, nice tower of pretty white head. Candy sweet hops, herbal, dandelion. Menthol fresh, brisk hopping, wheaty sweetness, touch of alcohol warmth leading to a clean finish. Really nice beer! I was surprised to read this is all malt--impressive to get a refreshing beer like this without any sugar in the fermentables. Thanks Fin! (8/4/8/4 16) pantani (1894), Salinas, California, USA Aug 19, 2007 Bright orange/amber thick white head. Aroma is citrus, orange peel, nutmeg, alcohol, pale malts, plenty of depth and complexity in the aroma. Taste is citrus, plenty of spiciness, light alcohol, and a little bit of sweetness. Real good belgian. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Aug 18, 2007 Writing from memory....for some reason I haven’t added this to my list. Spiced, yes. But little else except nice hops coming to mind. Anyway, it’s not as valuable to me to note beers so late...but I want this one on my record. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Aug 18, 2007 Updated: Aug 8, 2008Gorgeous billowing white head several fingers high. De Dolle rocks and so do their labels. The Arabier is sensual and mysterious. Each sip renders new secrets. Dry with hints of smoke. Sheer delight, my appreciation builds each time I open a bottle. BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Aug 8, 2007 Indeed I’ve problems with the dolle yeast. Only the Oerbier I find great. Arabier and the others are maybe a ? of time. The yeast is bitter in a "strange" way for me, but hopefully I gain the force to enjoy it one day! ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 7, 2007 Updated: Dec 1, 2007lots of carbination, head and lacings. nutty aroma. citrus & hops for flavor. wonderful sweet and sour beer!
seems a little similar to the orabeir BelgianBeerGal (1275), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 5, 2007 33cl bottle. Very lively beer with good carbonation driving a tall, white head. Flavor of malt with a short, dry finish. Nice beer overall. kapusta (84), Dover, Delaware, USA Aug 1, 2007 Very hoppy and spicey, more so than I prefer. Nice snow white head, nice gold color, and nice spicey aroma. Almost had a "melon like" flavor. Not sweet enough for me.
