11.2 oz. bottle courtesy of lamas. Poured very lively orange with bubbly white head. Splotches of lace. Some dark sediment at the bottom of the glass. Starts biscuity and finishes with some bittering citrus hops. Spicy. Dry finish. Extremely drinkable. Lovely Belgian strong ale.

Bottle @ De Kelk, Bruges. Purs slightly hazy with a huge cloudy head. The aroma s powerfully hopped, the malts give some deeper fruitess (raisins, dates) especially in the finish. Quite complex. The flavor is strong, both in bitterness and maltiness. It is quite dry in the finish with quite high bitterness. The palate is medium bodied, silky at first and sticky bitter in the finish, Top class drinkability.

330ml bottle - gusher, big gusher. Golden with big floaties - maybe this hasn’t travelled well...??? Lovely juicy aroma of pears, sweet tinned fruits and other goodies. decent bitterness which hides the alcohol well. Nice yeast attributed funk to it also. Low marks for the start but finished well.

Creamy white excellent fully lasting head. Orange colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Very cttrus-like flavor. Moderate bitter. Very fruity. Long powerfull finish. Creamy palate. Unbalanced.

Bottle, we have a gusher, this beer is livelym hopefully it’s not infected. Appears hazy orange with a tall white head. Lots of citris hops in the aroma, some light lemon. Taste is sweet with a bitterness that cuts in at just the right time. The alcohol is masked well.

33cl bottle from ølbutikken.no best before on bottle or cap, so sampled soon after purchase. opened with a hiss, and a little foam came out by itself. poured a unclear orange with few small debris, and a giant offwhite relatively thick head. I had to pour a little at a time in order to keep the foam in the glass. sweet peachy, spicy, dry aroma, hints of honey, tea leaves, powdered sugar. nice! flavor is licorice?, honey, spices, pepper, faint malts. quite dry taste. lots going on especially in the aroma. alc. well hidden and used nicely as a spice. flavor is actually quite balanced. aftertaste same as flavor, but the sweet notes gets somewhat weaker leaving a bitter orange/citrus-peel impression.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2009 Bottle at Beer Table in Brooklyn. Good beer but something was a little off. Golden yellow color, large white head. Some hops and citrus, a little funk, pretty light flavor overall for a Belgian Strong Ale. Medium palate. RE-RATE: Had this at De Dolle in Esen, Belgium, and it’s a damn good beer. Great hoppy, yeasty flavor with a mild tartness and funk. Must have had a bad bottle the first time.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with an extremely large white head. Aroma is very dusty with some yeast and a gentle hop. Flavor is some biscuit with a nice citrus fruit and ends well with a decent amount of hops. Finish is bone dry. This is an tasty and exceptional beer.
