COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Arabier is a pure malt beer brewed with flower Nugget-hops from Poperinge. It has the special dry-hopping taste and aroma, so appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. It is one of the two main beers from De Dolle Brouwers available throughout the year. Aging time is limited due to the fact that hop bitterness declines with age. Store arabier cool and dark and serve cool at 10°C.

Had this one for a few months, so it probably wasn’t the freshest. Pours cloudy golden with huge frothy head. Aroma is fruit, floral, leaves. Moderately sweet and bitter. Fairly dry with moderate body. Decent enough.

33 cl bottle. BBE 11/2011.
Originally rated on 20100722.
Pours cloudy orange color with a huge foamy head. Aroma of spices, citrus, belgian yeast, malts, orange peel, grass and some earth and basement aromas. Flavor of spices, sour citrus, orange, mild malts, yeast, distant notes of herbs, hay and hops. Very high CO2, sour palate with a bitter finish. Very crisp and refreshing. Well balanced and exciting brew.

From the bottle. Orange-ish with a huge white head. Tastes fruity at the start but finishes with some bitterness. Got some spices going on too.

NBD, NY 11.2oz ($5.50): Pours with ridiculous amounts of head over a nice orange body. When the head settles it really looks great. Aroma is nice and fruity, with some yeast funk; it is kind of similar to the aroma of Stille Nacht. Taste is slightly sweet and fruity at the front and then the nugget hop bitterness hits and holds on for a lingering finish. Yeast is there in good measure, but not as extreme as in the Dulle Teve. As with all De Dolle beers, this is perfectly well crafted, extremely well balanced and unique. In fact, I would say that this is one of the hoppier Belgians I’ve had and I wasn’t really expecting that, but hey there it goes. Good. stuff, but not my favorite from my favorite brewery.
