vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Dec 9, 2006 Updated: Jul 16, 2008Pours hazy orange with some sediment even with a careful pour and a large fizzy white head that has good retension and very good lacing. The aroma is spicy and citrusy with barnyard characteristics along with some nectar fruits. It seems like there is pilsner malt mixed with Belgium earthiness. Medium slick body with sharp carbonation that at times masks the slickness. Starts with the pils malt aspect and a good amount of spiciness and sharp nectar-like fruitiness. The finish had more spiciness and a huge batch of mouth filling carbonation spreading out the flavors. Very nice beer. Rerate notes: Rating only bumped up 0.1 - the fresh bottle was slightly different. There is more of a spicy hoppiness throughout and the finish has an earthy hop presence along. All of the aspects of the original rating are still there. Enjoyable. stouby (1931), Holbaek, Denmark Dec 8, 2006 Bottle at home.
Unclear, golden with a huge white head, good lacings. Aroma heavy malty (fruity, citrus), moderate hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet, moderate bitter and acidic. Medium body, lively carbonated. Marsiblursi (1631), Göteborg, Sweden Dec 7, 2006 (Bottle) Pours hazy amber, big white head. Sugary, malt, fruit and hoppy dryness in aroma with some honey roasted nuts. Small notes of banana and marzipan. Well carbonated, champange-ish mouthfeel. Light to medium bitter and a bit dry with citrus tones and herb-ish hints. Light sweet and malty. Medium body. beermouth (434), Langeskov, Denmark Dec 1, 2006 Slight hazy yellow with huge rocky head. Lemon, grass, yeast and pepper. Quite high acidity but nice balance though! decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Nov 24, 2006 A hazed orange pour with a huge foamy head. A sweet fruity aroma. A flavor of alcohol seems to come through at 7%.I’m surprised. A good beer but not a great one. Just a tad on the fizzy side for me. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 15, 2006 What a terrific beer, had at the Gollem in A’dam. lovely dry aroma of hops. Lots golden colored with a really big rocky head. flavor is dry, spicy, and delicious. Adictive with notes of citrus, earth, and a nice malty back bone. nice active palate. I love this beer. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Nov 14, 2006 Bottle: Copper color with a big white head. Aroma, lemony, some mustiness, and floral notes. Flavor, light fruits, belgian yeast, a bit sweet, and a nice hop character. Pretty decent stuff. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Nov 4, 2006 Pours cloudy golden caramel with a gigantic frothy off white head--1/3 of my beer is still in the bottle--with a bunch of chunky sediment. Aroma of Belgian hops, dust, apples, and pears. Taste is much the same with a little bit of sweet artificial oranges, though this isn’t near as detracting as what I’ve had with some beers. Not terribly hoppy, though it does have a dry slightly bitter finish. Still moderate to high carbonation, medium bodied. Nice lacing, almost 1/4" @ some points. Can’t really pick up on any ETOH, though it is just 7%.
