bikesandbeers (468), Los Angeles, California, USA Nov 7, 2005 Picked this cute bottle up at the IJzer Flemish Nationalist Musem in Diksmuide. Poured a hazy orange with a thicy white head. Nose is yeasty with some sweet citrus.Flavor is slightly acidic citrus with a dry hoppy finish. Good carbonation. A nice beer, but nothing special. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany Oct 24, 2005 Fizzy carbonation, huge white rocky head. Orange color. Grapefruit, mustard seed, honey and some sweetness in the nose. Puckers on the tongue due it’s lively carbonation. Light apricot and grape taste - slightly peppery and medium hoppy finish. A beer that grows it’s taste. Pernille (518), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 9, 2005 Hazy, honey color. An usual beer. Quite hoppy but with some flavors taht I’m not used to. A very large and steady head. Won’t become a favorite in my house. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 8, 2005 bottle. wow, that is some head! Pours a gigantic head that seems to last for a very long time. hazy orange with that aforementioned soapy white head. aroma is dusty pear, sweet caramel malt, and generous yeast. body is rich malt with chocolate in the middle and a moderate bitterness on the finish. yeasty all over with a touch of spice on the lips. warm alcohol is apparent as well. nice. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Oct 6, 2005 330 ml bottle shared with jerc. Hazy golden colour with a lasting creamy and fizzy off-white head. Caramel, light acidity, light alcohol aroma. Dry, dusty, bitter, alcohol and light caramel flavours. Medium body, dry creamy mouthfeel. Nice but simplistic. Thanks Jer. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Oct 5, 2005 Bottle. Pours a HUGE big rocky head. Eventually (after 5 or so minutes) settles down. reveals a dark yellow, very hazy color. Nose is light lemon and pepper, some dry hints. Taste is very bland, light lemony sense to it, but overall mediumness. A light bit of pepper comes through, a small hint of hopps and there you have it. Finish is dry, light bitterness. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 5, 2005 Updated: Oct 13, 2007October 2007. Orangey amber body with massive creamy white head. Floral and baking flour like notes in the aroma. (6+) Lightly alcoholic, dry flavour with modest malt middle. Hints of toasty malt, along with light whispers of lemon seeds in the finish and aftertaste. Medium palate. Pleasant, triple like brew but does not make you rush to repeat it. 6+/5/7/3/14 - 3.5
<P>October 2005. Dark golden brown body is a bit hazy, massive creamy off white head. Sweet yeasty malt in the aroma, touch of burnt or caramelized sugar, mild fruitiness. Sweet initial impression turns dry quite quickly, leaving the back of the throat aware of its passing. Ephemeral sugars and malts struggle to sweeten the mix in vain. Medium effervescent palate. Lacks the complexity of its De Dolle brethren. 6/4/7/3/15 - 3.5 IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Oct 4, 2005 Poured a translucent effervescent amber with a tall fluffly off-white head. Aroma of honey, flowers, touch of spiciness. Taste is spicy, a touch sweet to start, with a moderate hop bitterness and a very dry finish... slight acidity as well. Bit of an alcohol tang for 7 percent. Now this is my idea of a "Belgian session brew".
