joeec5 (204), bayonne, New Jersey, USA Apr 2, 2005 aroma is belgian yeast, hops, taste is bitter.lemon, this is very carbonated, alc is present and mouthfeel is astringent.,my least fav. de dolle so far.but not bad. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Apr 1, 2005 I’ve really enjoyed the few hopped-up Belgian ales that I’ve had thus far. A hazy yellowish brown with a lofty, rocky, chunky, chewable head, this erupts with a huge array of floral scents... nice, nice hoppiness. It’s not a very complex beer. The soft-bodied, sweet malt flavors are buried under a field of floral hop bitterness which carries through into the long, lingering finish. This is a good one for this hop-head. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 1, 2005 Very sweet, granny smith apple nose. Pours a cloudy, medium brown body with a huge, fluffy head. The flavor is white bread crust and sour apples. Lots of carbination. Pretty good. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia Apr 1, 2005 Sweet hoppy floral aroma. Over the top head and lacing. Cloudy yellow brown colour. Smooth sweet hop malt flavour. Smooth palate. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Mar 27, 2005 Bottle thanks to Joeec5. Hazy yellow/gold color with a nice thick white head. Mild, hoppy, yeasty aroma that reminded me of a saison. Flavor was very dry and bitter with lots of yeast,
hops and pepper. Odd mouthfeel due to the very assertive carbonation and a strange astringency. Left me kind of cotton-mouthed. Enjoyable, but probably my least favorite De Dolle beer. Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Mar 21, 2005 Bottle: Poured a light hazy yellow color ale with a huge foamy head with perfect retention. Aroma is mostly comprised of yeast with some spices and hops also noticeable. Taste is quite sharp with again the yeast making a lot of impression and spices with strong malt being quite evident. Strong body with some good carbonation. WOW, this brewery seems to always be amazing. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Mar 20, 2005 Dark golden color with a huge rocky bubbly head. Very spicy aroma. Raspt rough mouthfeel. Fruity citrus flavor. Interesting but not something I would seek out again. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Mar 18, 2005 Bottled. Pours murky dark yellow/ copper colored. Slight yeast and ,alt aroma with hops very present. Carbonated mouth feel. Slightly spicy with very malty taste. Hoppy aftertaste.
