COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Arabier is a pure malt beer brewed with flower Nugget-hops from Poperinge. It has the special dry-hopping taste and aroma, so appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. It is one of the two main beers from De Dolle Brouwers available throughout the year. Aging time is limited due to the fact that hop bitterness declines with age. Store arabier cool and dark and serve cool at 10°C.

0.33L bottle - $5.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Features a hazed, dim golden body with a very tall, quickly growing white head, despite a careful, calm pour. Smell: A predominately fruity nose, tropical in nature, and with some bright, fresh florals given tones of spice and sugar and, though lightly, a couple lemon-menthol cough drops. Taste: Sweetish, candyish quality in the initial taste. Some leafy qualities and a fluttering of phenols follow. A few citric elements, a thin sliver of pineapple, and another dose of table sugar arrive midway, as does some alcoholic warmth and a noted touch of tongue-numbing menthol. Hits being spicy (clove and mace) and dries out very, very fast in time for the heavily carbonated, help-I’m-filling-up-with-gas finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Exceptionally carbonated, pained, gassy burps are sure to follow. Overall: Okay. It’s interesting enough with its complexities for a dose and a bit champagne-like in texture, filling me up with gas, so I can skip lunch -- no, sir, there will be no need of Panda Express today.

Pours a nice, slightly hazy yellow-amber with a VERY thick off-white head that is quite frothy and sticks around for a while. Be careful when pouring this or you’ll get foam from hell to breakfast! Aroma is not strong, but it is pleasingly malty and fruity and a little yeasty. Fruity, malty flavor has a surprisingly hoppy and bitter undertone. Sublime texture is silky smooth on the outside and lively and fizzy on the inside so it slides down the pipes easily yet leaves a nice tingle behind. Love them Belgians!

Test vom 24.3.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche
