COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Arabier is a pure malt beer brewed with flower Nugget-hops from Poperinge. It has the special dry-hopping taste and aroma, so appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. It is one of the two main beers from De Dolle Brouwers available throughout the year. Aging time is limited due to the fact that hop bitterness declines with age. Store arabier cool and dark and serve cool at 10°C.

Smells kind of fruity but full of alcohol. It is rather light in flavor except for the noticeable alcohol tase. In fact, as fas as Belgians go, it is rather poor.

Bottle: Aroma is fruity, yeasty, and citrusy. Pours a dull cloudy orange with no transparency. Soapy off-white head with very good retention. Fruity and yeasty with a pretty big lemon flavor as well. Rather spicey and hoppy finish. Very acidic. They’ve done better.

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 30, 2011

Brown bottle, 33 cl, best before DEC07, via Importations Privées Bièropholie (merci Hughes!), savoured on May 19 2011; eye: orangey, hazy, nice effervescence, lots of white head that falls and turns into a thin creamy sheet, lots of lacing; nose: yeast, slight Madeira, spices, bread, alcohol, light fruity; mouth: yeast, light caramel, alcohol, light fruity, finale all in unpleasant alcohol, medium-full body, nice carbonation, slightly bitter alcoholic texture; overall: disappointing FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 33 cl, meilleure avant DEC07, via Importations Privées Bièropholie (merci Hughes!), savourée le 19 mai 2011; œil : orangée, trouble, bonne effervescence, mousse blanche abondante qui tombe et se transforme en une mince couverture crémeuse, beaucoup de dentelle; nez : levure, très léger madère, épices, pain, alcool, léger fruité; bouche : levure, léger caramel, alcool, léger fruité, finale tout en alcool désagréable, corps moyen-corsé, bonne carbonatation, très légèrement amère, texture alcoolique; en résumé : déçu

probstblueribbon (1967) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 25, 2007
33 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temp in a tulip glass.

App.: GUSHED and I lost about half the bottle. Very cloudy, dirty light orange, HUGE off-white meringue. Aroma: Yeast and bread, funk and tang, citrus notes and dirty coriander, some alcohol, a bit of cherries, apples, apricots, and sour, acidic fruits, slight wood and definite alcohol. Palate: Medium body, powdery and soft effervescence. Flav.: Slightly funy, lots of fruit, some yeast and dough, leafy hops; fair bitterness on swallowing, too much alcohol for me; slightly sweet.

I don’t think I get it. I’ll try the other bottle sometime. ratebeer told me this is beer #420. I wish I could celebrate...

a little dissapointed in this one for a De Dolle. Maybe it was just a bit off - will have to try this one again.

Fragrance: yeast, citrus, fruit, hops, alkohol and wheat. The taste is the same but especially distinct is bitterness and yeast. No, this is not a beer for me, do not like the acrid and soapy bitterness!
