Scauca (196), Lovere, Italy Apr 28, 2008 Lively yellow, bit hazy, with a white creamy huge head. Nose hit by the typical De Dolle’s tartness, somewhat vinous, or better "casky". Hoppy and malty as weel. Hi drinkable, balanced toward a slightly bitter and definitely dry end.
cmillward (136), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours golden with a voluminous white head, craggy and leaves beautiful lacing on the glass. Huge nose of spice, yeast, bubble gum hints, cloves, candi sugar and floral hops. Spicy to taste, some fruit, a touch of sweetness and honey, then wham! a huge bitterness not betrayed in the nose hits your tongue. Gorgeously light, rolls around in your mouth with a lush carbonation and finishes nicely, dry. I love this brewery. Pompey (8), Longmont, Colorado, USA does not count Jul 1, 2008 Great Aroma of fruit and malt with some hops. Big fluffy head over the cloudy light yellow pour. Taste is a bit over hopped as the fruit is hard to find. Not a bad ale, just a bit dry and dull for my tastes. Still a pretty good one. Long dry hoppy finish, which grows on you. Enjoyable, but one I’ll go to great lengths to find. Worth trying though. azlondon (455), Greater London, England Jun 27, 2008 Appearance: Cloudy yellow/bronze. Loads of head.
Aroma: Very fruity. Gone-off fruit?
Taste: Very fruity, long aftertaste. Malty.
Info: 330ml bottle, 9/2-2006, 69/300 joshwilfong (462), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 24, 2008 hazy golden with strong white head. perfectly balanced flavor with initial pale malt flavor mixed with candy sugar that is perfectly balanced by the spiciness that De Dolle has perfected blending with a tremendous hop bitterness and some flavor. this beer may not be absurdly flavorful, but that is what makes the unbelievable balance and complexity that much more remarkable. tremendous brewery radiomgb (1701), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 18, 2008 Golden orange in colour, large and lingering white coloured head, excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is of lemons, apples, musty, yeasty, some spice. The flavour is floral, soapy, yeasty, some alcohol, citrus and spice. Medium bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes slightly sweet, lingering with some spice and alcohol warmth.
This is still pretty good but I’m afraid to say that this is starting to fade.
