COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Arabier is a pure malt beer brewed with flower Nugget-hops from Poperinge. It has the special dry-hopping taste and aroma, so appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. It is one of the two main beers from De Dolle Brouwers available throughout the year. Aging time is limited due to the fact that hop bitterness declines with age. Store arabier cool and dark and serve cool at 10°C.

Thick, hazy orange brown with fluffy, cumulus cloud-like head. Aroma of a grassy meadow on a summer afternoon. Initial flavor is citrus, followed by pepper and malt. Nice bitter finish. Definitely worth seeking out.

From bottle to glass. Earth and spice notes are dominate, with slight lemon and full yeast. Pours a hazy deep gold with lots of yeast in suspension. MASSIVE head implies over carbonated, and after it finally subsides, a lingering and beautiful pure white head remains. Taste is spice and biscuit malt with moderate low bitterness. Finishes semi-dry.

Bottle purchased at Ølbutikken in May 2013, aged for a year in my cellar. Pours hazy golden amber with medium, thick white head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, honey, light citrus, light coriander and herbs. Taste is modestly sweet with subtle balancing bitterness that builds towards the finish. Quite spicy as well. Creamy, rich body with soft carbonation.

Yellow with a thick head. Smell is of caramel, bread, grassy & citrusy hops, and faint vinous notes. Taste is upfront of a vinous bitterness mix which changes to a more grassy floral hop flavour with a pretty solid malt background that is quite bready. Good, but for me not great at all, just not that enjoyable, and the taste is quite subtle, except the vinous notes.

A- Pours a hazy tangerine color with a large, chunky, ghost white head. S- Tangerine, light citrus fruit, orange juice, indistinct sweetness. T- Light tangerine/apricot up front that is overcome by a wave of hops that subsides into a light bitterness on the tongue. M- Medium bodied with ample carbonation. D- Decently drinkable beer. Somewhere in between a session beer and a sipper for me ... don’t necessarily know what occasion i’d recommend it for.

330ml bottle from Les Crepes de Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a hazy yellow with a great head. Awesome blond flavours on the slightly more sweeter side with more of a yeast presence alongside vibrant citrus and lemon. Great stuff.

Draft at dolle. Pours gilden yellow. Served a bit too cold imo. Nice malt base with green hops profile. Medium body, medium bitterness, taste of malts, bread, banana, pine...

As a big fan of De Dolle beers I really looked forward to taste this one. 33 cl. bottle poured in to a Tulip. Hazy, golden-amber colour with a huge, fluffy head that slowly fades to big lumps. Colour gets darker as the bottle empties due to the sediment in the bottom. Fruity aroma with citrus, floral and herbal hops, sweet fruits, particularly apricot, rich caramel malts, yeasty-fruity notes. Some bread. Usual complex De Dolle aroma - excellent. Taste is herbal bitter and yeasty - a Belgian IPA. Medium body with a lively carbonation that cuts the richness somewhat. Long lasting herbal bitter and fruity finish with yeasts and caramel malts. Another excellent beer from De Dolle. Lacks a bit of the mind blowing complexity from the Reserva beers or Stille Nacht. Still very good, trough.

Clear golden/light amber with massive white head. Light sweet malts, spices (cloves), lemon, yoghurt, flowery, cucumber, green leaves. Taste is a great balance between sweetness, with fruity sourness and medium bitter finish. Medium bodied, full carbonation and medium dry feel. Nice.

330ml bottle bought at Craftissmo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden orange with a thick layer of brown yeast sedimentsOne finger head with lasting, crumpety off white foams; Excellent sticky lacing and quite fizzy carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant and dark fruit-driven which can be smelt as soon as it was popped, with very strong plums, figs, raisins, floral, orange, light pineapple, candy sugar, strong Belgian yeast, malt, alcohol and light spices.

Taste: Rich, mid to light sweet malt with distinctive sour notes, plus strong plums, grapefruit, orange peels, molasses, strong resin, very dry biscuits, Bel yeast, spices, strong lime, grass, and strong bitter hops.

Body: Full body. Dry, rich and very oozy palate.

Mouth Feel: A nice Belgian IPA! Lots of dry-hopped Nuggets here for a solid grapefruit, orange and resiny taste. The dark-fruity Bel Ale and yeast base is still strong, through not as varied and sweet as the Mad Bitch; Has a pretty distinctive sour note which compliment the bitterness quite well. Very neat!

Hoppiness: The showcase of this brew - nose is very good floral, grapefruit, orange and spice; taste is head strong grapefruit zest, orange peels, oozy resins, spice and grassy hops; IPA-standard strong bitterness for a lasting and astringent long finish. Yum!

After Taste: Bone dry; Pleasant biscuit, bitter and fulfilling to mouth.

Comments: After the dark-fruity Mad Bitch, this is another good one from De Dolle: a solid showcase and template of Belgian IPA - combinging the best of Bel Ales (good looks and head, excellent dark fruit and estery yeastiness) with nice loads of dry hops (solid citrus, orange peels, floral and resins). My personal; preference is still Mad Bitch but this is a solid, all-round crowd pleaser. A must try!
