Bottle. Pours hazy gold, medium white head, very poor lacing. Nose is spice, banana, acid, almost sour, quite tart, nearly a Bretted Tripel. Flavours run to banana and lemon, loads of spice and candy/confection here also. Spicy and lightly boozy finish. Really tasty.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Elwood (1834) - Between a rock and a hard place, Virginia, USA - SEP 2, 2010
Serving: 330 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors.
Aroma: The nose is sweet but dusty with some Belgian yeast notes, candied orange, sweet light fruit (think peaches in light syrup), dust, and candy sugar.
Appearance: It pours a cloudy dirty orange with a very foamy off-white head. There is lots of carbonation and activity in this one.
Flavor: The Belgian yeast plays a big role in this one. Yeasty with lots of citrus fruit and a solid sweetness upfront. The dustiness, a bit of bitterness, and a light dryness come through on the back end.
Palate: Light to medium in body. Despite the high level of sweetness, the high level of carbonation helps sweep it away and the finish ends up being a bit dry.
Overall: A very enjoyable brew that I think could be better with less and finer carbonation. Still, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

Pours light gold with thin, fine white head. Smells fruity, berries, eventually blueberry comes out. Smells a little sour, perhaps from the honey’s bacteria. Flavor is fruity, tart, with a little bit of the Goldings bitterness lightly perceptible on the back of the tongue. Delicious, drinkable, perhaps a bit of sweetness to. Will try more from this brewery.

Malts and honey come out, is easy and smooth. Pous with inseane head, creamy and yellow/orange. Tastes like honey and dextrose, some malts and hops, but mostly the sweetness. Too sweet , all in all. Brett maybe? it’s soo crazy tasting. Sort of nuts, it’s good but not somehting to seek.

Had in bottle at De Dolle. Very carbonated like all De Dolle beer. This I think may have been my favorite of the pale colored De Dolle beers. Yummy. Serving: Bottle

Very tastey, but SUUUPER carbonated, foam overflowed out of the bottle when I first opened it. The beer itself was also very carbonated and took away from the delicious belgian yeast, barley and slight hops flavors.

Tasted from a gusher of a bottle at Lush West Town. Pours cloudy yellow with a huge white head that leaves heavy lace. Nose is anise, something herbal, yeast, and something slightly sour. Flavor is sweet with caramel malt, chocolate, cinnamon, clove, coriander, and citrus. The body is full with light carbonation and a long warming finish.

Light gold color with big fluffy white head. Aroma is so sweet and fruity. Flavor had nice light fruits and maltyness with strong, strong spices which intensified as it warmed. So good!
